George Chuvalo vs. Earnie Shavers

I think too many people think being knocked out means you have a bad chin. It would be more accurate to say a good chin means you don't get knocked out easily. The losses to Patterson and Ali were one-sided, but his loss to Marciano was hard-fought, and Moore fought like a champ, Rocky floored him three times before he put him down for the count, and Moore kept getting up to fight back. Anyone who says Moore had a bad chin has never seen Yvon Durelle I. Plus, there are lots of fights you can read about on boxrec where Archie was floored two or three times and got up to win. And even in fights he lost to Bivins and Eddie Booker and so on, Archie was floored over and over again, kept punching. Archie Moore is the LAST guy who will be stuck on the floor after ONE knockdown.

 

I don't mind differing opinions, but I like people to explain themselves, rather than the people who are like: "No, Tyson beats him." Aside from the fact that I would probably disagree with that, WHY?????????
