If George Foreman in the 90s was a boxer puncher, Hasim Rahman was a reincarnation of Muhammad Ali.

The thought of Foreman having enough lateral movement to keep Tua resetting is hilarious.

If I write 1991 & you’re going to use fights from 1996-7 then we may as well bring in the fat Tua of post-00. Morrison is the only earlier fight & good luck convincing anyone Tua will fight that way.

Tua wasn’t a very capable fighter. He had a bullish punch & a great chin, & that makes this match interesting. But I can pick his worst performances & he will be more embarrassed by them than Foreman is of his.

The idea that Tua is going to go in a blitz George is kind of silly- a little less silly than the idea of Tua stopping Foreman late.
The most likely scenario is that Tua catches a few of those telephone pole jabs on the way in and slows down to think. Foreman would jab, throw a right hand or maybe a hook or uppercut. Then Tua would stop trying to win and would walk forward with his hands up. A jab on the gloves would make him stop and regroup and when he got close, BIG George would lean on him.
Fight goes the route, gets really tedious about half way through and George wins a decision because of his jab.
Tua has, since his retirement, become something that he never was.

    The comeback Foreman myth..........

For reference, Foreman played the Heavybag vs Moorer until the 11th hour until he landed the lucky punch vs a feeble minded glass jawed Ex Light Heavy who had average pop at best at Heavy...............said feeble minded glass chinned Ex light Heavyweight Moorer went out , again, in seconds vs the One trick Pony Tua................

Comeback Foreman struggled with Tomato cans, fact, but I understand most posters were not alive when his circus act, not my words, the boxing press , labeled him as.

    Lol, Greg!

That never clip has never and will never get old.

If Max Schmeling had spied that vision he most definitely would’ve said “I seeze sumzing”.

Max would then know to deftly position himself to receive the uppercut and then slip same at the last second. The Master Plan.

Max could then repeat that simple process over and over until Tyson had throughly beat himself up.

Fury gave himself a good whack, didn’t he? I think it was enough to make him blink. This is a practice of true “fightin’ man.

Also, it’s the ones that you don’t see coming (even if self launched) that hurt you the most.

I don’t know if it’s said elsewhere - but in Australia when someone says or does something stupid - they’re often told to give themselves an uppercut.

All credit to Fury - he didn’t need to be told, he figured out what he deserved and what he had to do, all on his own.

Your little wonder boy Mikey played the heavybag until the 11th hour against James Douglas and then.......and then.........wait for it.......got poleaxed!!!! He had the power why couldn't he ever come back like Foreman did? Intestinal fortitude?!?!?!?!?!? Guy was a total frontrunner, Foreman could win from the front or the back which is something Tyson couldn't do. Before you start waffling on trying to compare Douglas and Moorer lets remember Holyfield utterly poleaxed Douglas in 2 rounds next fight!

So disingenuous. Anyone familiar with the era would know Foreman was considered a circus until his excellent showing vs Holyfield and mags ran stories and covers to that affect....he isn't a joke no more etc.

That part just didn't fit the agenda now did it ;)

It really is that easy to pick the most likely scenario in this one isn't it.

    Confirmed

You were not alive when Jorge terrorized the Club Circuit...............excellent showing vs Holyfield, yeah, Everlast sold a lot of Heavbags with Foremans name on it afterwards..............so winning three to four rounds is "excellent showings"................so One trick Pony Manny Pac also had "excellent showings " at 118-110 vs Floydette ............

I recommend you go back to Beer, apparently the Whiskey is doing you no good

    Always looking out for you

    Yours truly

I'm asking you to define what a boxer puncher is in your own words.
