y abut morrison/foreman was in 1992 and doreman was 44 not 42.................and morrison used angles and side to side movement to give foreman angles so foreman had to keep resetting to throw the heavy stuff...and it didnt work for george .........but ray mercer would be in front of george........he would get knocked out.

I agree that Mecer is maid to order for him like I said in my post Mercer just had such a good chin.. But Foreman would have a shot but I still lean towards a distance win for George..

Morrison kept on his bike and stayed away from George as much as possible. If they went at it, head to head, Morrison gets knocked out.
Foreman would stop Mercer because Mercer would probably attempt to trade at some point. Foreman by stoppage.

Mercer had NONE of Holy's 1991 finess in that year........ Foreman would've KILLED Holy in 1991 had the fight been held in a phone booth instead of a 20 X 20 ring......

Mercer in 1991 had no defense whatsoever and he only beat Francisco Damiani for the WBO title with a lucky, wicked uppercut to pop the brittle beak of Damiani.....

Mercer was there to be hit. Mercer also got fatigued after 6 or 7 rds of swinging and missing, as well.. I'm sorry, but 1991 Foreman was bigger, stronger, tighter defense and a better puncher.... Foreman clobbers Mercer and makes Ray quit on his stool after 8 rds.....

    FOREMAN!

I don't know. People like to say how anyone who stands in front of 90's Foreman is dead, but Michael Moorer is as flatfooted as they come and he was rather successful up until his rather weak durability did him in all the way in the 10th round.

Mercer wouldn't have that problem, although at the same time 1991 Foreman is better than the one that fought Moorer.

I think the '97 Foreman was better than the one that fought Moorer.
The Foreman who fought Briggs would have ko'd Moorer sooner.

I think Moorer still moved more than Mercer would have. Mercer had a lot of confidence in his chin. I dont think Foreman stops him, but I think George can do well against Mercer for the simple fact that Mercer would be there to trade, but thats not to say Mercer doesnt beat him up, which I think would have been likely had Foreman faced the 96 version of Mercer, who had improved quite a bit mostly in his offense.

No way any Mercer beats up George. Mercer would of had to stay away from George to have any chance.

    Agreed.

Fight just good enough to lose. And I can definately see Mercer coming into a bout like this heavy--figuring he'd have an easy time of it against an old guy. Not bothering to get razor sharp for what he'd consider an easy bout was something Mercer did on a regular basis.
