Larry was a better fighter than Foreman in his prime. An underrated fighter always. Too bad he fought better guys when he was past his prime.

Id go with Holmes by late stoppage. He wouldnt be a sitting duck for those brutal uppercuts. That was where Foreman`s best power was those uppercuts. That was his wheelhouse. Not saying he couldnt hurt you with a hook or a straight right.

Larry is going to move side to side and stand tall using that razor like jab. He would drop enough rights behind it to eventually get George Foreman`s respect.

Even if Big George connects and clubs Holmes to the canvas I trust Larry to get up and survive. He had a titanic heart and his stamina was superior.

I can actually see one of two outcomes..

Either Holmes dictates the pace, boxes Foreman soundly and takes it via decision or late stoppage.

    OR

Foreman is able to close the gap and hurt Holmes, then follows up and gets him in big trouble.

Foreman had trouble with great boxers who had a tough set of Whiskers, ie. Ali, Young, Holyfield, etc. Larry Holmes Certainly makes that fraternity. On the flipside, Larry also proved vulnerable at times, especially where the right hand was concerned. Foreman's right was lethal, and unlike Earnie Shavers could unload with a two fisted attack. He was also murder in the clinches, knew the value of working the body and at times could even cut off the ring with reasonable effectiveness. All too often a 1970's Foreman is written off in discussions as being a slow plodding slugger with bad stamina and weak mental resolve. While some of these criticisms harbor a bit of truth, they are also over stated and not always spot on. George Foreman was much harder to beat than is often claimed and even an all time great boxer such as Larry would be in peril for as long as the contest lasted..

That said, I will go with Holmes' master boxing skills and legendary recuperative powers, coupled with Foreman's spotty track record against this type of fighter, to produce a vote in favor of the Easton Assassin. But by no means is any of this a given.

If Larry came out like prime Larry using that devastating jab of his and keepin Foreman off him and makin George swing and miss with his Holmes great movement and ability and the ability to land great shots movin side to side. Basically if Foreman doesnt knock Larry out by the 3rd my pick would be Holmes wins by KO between the 6th or 7th round.
