Foreman knocks him out. A prime Tyson was a different beast, but I don't see how this version of him is any better than Frazier aside from being a harder puncher. Too one dimensional, too short, too hittable and too aggressive for his own good.
George cause Tyson needs to finish the fight right away even more than George does which changes the whole dynamics of the fight. Tyson does have a higher chance of beating the Foreman from the Ali fight than any other 70s version. But thats not saying much. George wasn't himself when he fought Ali and I get the impulse of wondering what greats who normally wouldn't have beaten him could have taken him that night. But George is a terrible matchup for Tyson. Ali and Jimmy Young are the blueprint for being able to take out a 70s Foreman. Your looking for a super durable point fighter who can outbox George and whose close to Foreman in size. None of those 4 things are really Tyson. I don't think Tyson hits as hard as Lyle does and can answer George knockdown for knockdown. But if he can the Lyle fight shows how that ends. Especially given how small Tyson is. Foreman was able to go the distance without getting knocked down by Shannon Briggs at 47. Winning a firefight with Foreman was going to take an awful lot. If someone like Liston can hurt harder than George(debatable) they probably lack his durability.
I don't believe he believed that. That was a self interested statement. It was his fighter after all. He had no reason to build up George Foreman.
That was prime Foreman, just a bad style for him and not to mention the fact it was Muhammad Ali, he’d beat that version of Tyson, although a controversial opinion here, that Tyson may stand a better chance against Foreman than 80s Tyson because he was more patient and didn’t Bob and Weave as much, and the uppercut was Foreman’s bread and butter and was great at timing opponents bobbing and weaving, he’d get that bobbing by throwing straight punches and hooks, then slip in the uppercut, 90s Tyson may actually have more success, but would still come up short.
Tyson tagged Holyfield badly in round one. Ali tagged Foreman in round one. Tyson tags Foreman badly in round one. Tyson still had impressive stretches in the mid rounds against Holyfield. Foreman got cooked in the middle rounds. Conclusion: Foreman either gets stopped early or gasses out before Mike does, especially in hot weather, unless the ref allows Foreman to break all sorts of rules like Holyfield was allowed to do.
