Just heard about this on the radio, hope they do it right, I love Big George and his story will make for a great movie. Movie details below: https://m.imdb.com/title/tt12226632/
Great news. One of the best stories in boxing, from a hated hoodlum to the most popular guys in boxing in the two best decades in HW boxing.
This will be epic if done right. I always thought Ali should have finished with the Thriller in Manila.
100% agree, I’m stoked for this! If they cast it right and put adequate production value behind it then this could (and should) be something special. Can’t wait to see the trailer for this movie!
Big George is my all time favorite boxer. Bar none. Forest can be George second coming I guess. Who plays Olympic Gold medalist George? Who will be George fighting fires in the mountains in Oregon? Who will be George as a young thug in Houston? Good luck to the production. My hopes are high but expectations are low.
He's definitely had an interesting life and it definitely has the necessary ingredients for a good film with the rise from nowhere to Olympic champion then world champion, the fall with losing the title and retirement. Then the time for growth during his time away from boxing as a preacher, then the unlikely and often ridiculed comeback, culminating in an epic climax with him shockingly regaining the title against the odds. It could be a good it could be awful, impossible to say. I just hope they do a good job.
Mate, I think your post may highlight a problem, how to fit all of that into one film! It would need a mini series.
I live nearby where this is being filmed. It's being filmed in New Orleans. A friend of mine who trains me is playing Bob Hazelton in this movie. Not much of a role, Foreman blast him out pretty quick.
