Foreman would be playing basketball with Marciano,,,,he'd bounce him off the ring mat like a ball.

I might take the earlier version of George that fought Holyfield. But, the 1994 version that fought Moorer loses to most championship level heavyweights not named Michael Moorer.

Many will scoff at Marciano’s chances, & some at Foreman’s, but this is a match I find intriguing & mysterious, personally. There is little doubt Foreman could hurt Marciano, but could he produce the energy to finish such a brutally determined adversary off? & what sort of impact would Marciano’s heavy hands & relentless work rate have on Foreman? He himself was double tough, & has all the size in the world on his man here, but I still wonder with Marciano hitting his shoulders, arms, ribs…it’s a fight where I could literally see anything happening. Any outcome.

I’m not going to vote, at least not yet.

I would be sure of that if this were prime Foreman. You may still be right, but I have doubts about Foreman having the required burst of energy to finish his man when he hurts him (& win or lose, Marciano will get hurt here, doubtless).

Marciano's only path to victory is to continually come forward and back Foreman up ,, anybody on this planet think he'll back up George Foreman giving up about 13 inches in reach and about 65 pounds in weight?

This thread was done like 2 years ago and my thoughts on the fight haven't changed.

Foreman is 6'3 250+ pounds with a 79 inch reach vs Marciano 5'10 185 pounds 67 inch reach stylistically Marciano doesn't match up well vs Foreman he can't fight on the backfoot and he would be coming forward aggressively against a much bigger/stronger opponent who he couldn't hurt or deter.

Foreman would jab his head off at distance and stop Marciano.

Rock could end up battered to hell here.
Yes George would take some massive shots but I just see Marciano taking more and more punishment, until the ref calls it off.

The Foreman in play here scored his very last KO victory that year. He had immense power, but not the energy or drive to finish the job if the opponent was hurt. I have zero doubt that Moorer would have won that fight had he beaten the count. My concern for Foreman here is that he’s going to land one punch for every four or five Marciano lands (& I do not see Marciano having trouble getting under Foreman’s guard). He will get his head smashed back with the very first jab Foreman lands…& then find ample time to adjust because the follow up won’t be there.

But given no one put Marciano away, it’s possible too I’m under-estimating how much damage Foreman will do to him even in a diminished state. I would love to see this fight. I still think anything could happen here. Marciano is not Dwight Qawi.
