This was a terrible fight for the young prospect, and I believe Gil Clancy said that he couldn't believe his people were throwing him in with Foreman right away. Of course, hindsite basically confirmed that Ellis was never going to amount to much anyway, so hopfully the kid at least got a decent payday.
Because the first time I looked at the clip, I was assuming he was fighting former HW champion Jimmy Ellis
I would laugh at you...but a few years ago I ordered some Foreman DVD's and picked this one excpecting the same thing...Talk about disappointed!
Wasn't the 90's Ellis an ex football player? His KO record would lead you to believe he could whack. Shortly after the Foreman loss he stopped Tubbs in one... Tubbs said that was a fix years later, then again he claimed the same thing about Lionel Butler nearly decapitating him.
Foreman made 5 mill off HBO for his bout / farce against Raider "Scab" ball player---Jimmy Ellis... I taped the fight.... It sucked........ Foreman easy TKO 3 Ellis...... YUCK! MR.BILL
