Not constant, when Ali would throw, the punch would reach you quicker than Foreman’s punches, but if you think about what power actually is, it’s peak force and that means while it might take a second for the punch to reach its peak force, (moves slow at first) it’s building up to that peak force and peak force is how fast it’s travelling at its fastest point, so the fastest point of Foreman’s punch was faster than the fastest point of prime Ali’s punch.
Edit: So basically having a hard punch means having a fast peak speed of the punch.
Ali’s was obviously faster in the sense of how long it takes the punch to get to the target from when he threw it.

Yep - Amir Khan had a great chin.

The speed of a punch is how quickly you can get it from starting point to the target. When learning to jab, I was always taught how quickly you can throw it and return back to base with good form was the truest measure of your speed.

Foreman threw no punches quicker than Ali, but he deffo threw punches better than Ali - hooks, uppercuts, at times, his poleaxe jab (huge, controlling punch in his arsenal).

Yes and I also think Two Ton Tony Galento was quicker on his feet than Ali as well.

Bones matter just as much as fast-twitch/speed.

Foreman did have fast hands though. He simply often put power generation over direct delivery.

That's true for the Julian Jacksons and Thomas Hearns' of the world. Not the Foreman, Saad and Monzon types. They were strong enough to beat the living daylight out of you with slower pushing punches.

Foreman had more speed than for which he is given credit, for sure, but he isn't in the same time zone as Ali as far as speed. Not even close.

I think I need to ingest some ‘Shrooms to process this proposition.

Well, at least it’s an excuse for my next intake.

This forum is so deranged and backward that they are mocking the idea that speed equals power/power equals speed...when it literally does do that?
