    I said, best for best, head to head.

    Some other poster was moaning that Ali couldn't repeat the feat, using the rope-a-dope.

    Quite possibly, at that stage of his career, he couldn't.

    But the best version of Ali (1965 - 1968) beats any version of any other boxer who ever laced up gloves.

    That includes Big George, Iron Mike, Vitali, Sonny, both Jacks, Larry and Lennox.

    All things considered, it actually was a clinic.

    Ali was outboxing George from the first round on. He dropped a couple of rounds when he rested on the ropes while George expended his entire energy reserves.

    There's a myth that George was well ahead and just ran out of gas, allowing Ali to KO him on fatigue.

    Nothing could be further from the truth.

    Ali was ahead on points from the end of round 1 till the end of the fight.
