Ah man. Rest Easy King. Literally watched the movie about him two nights ago and discussing how amazing his life story was with a couple of friends yesterday. One of my favourites of all time.

Caught wind of this just before I went to bed last night and it came as a big shock. Like someone else said, I thought George was going to be around for a lot longer. I was just watching a HL of his fight with Alex Stewart a few days ago. One of the HW gods and a great character. RIP

The heayweight champions of my childhood and callow youth, have now all taken their final ten count, Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Spinks.

Rest in peace 'Big George', thanks for the memories.

Means nothing now, but even recently he seemed in great shape and health for his age? Did something change?

Anyway…this stings. A great man and a great boxing man. RIP.

For a US male the life expectancy is currently 74.8. Even for the elite and powerful its really a game of chance at that point. The people who live to 100 are a random collection of misfits with nothing in common.

RIP to the greatest HW ever.
