Nah. Lewis was worse for one. Although I enjoyed Lewis in his goofy kind of way. Such a funny and likeable dude but sadly an untalented commentator.

I loved Foreman as a commentator, being a boxer myself I understood some of the things that he would say that certain people would think made no sense. But also I just found him, Lampley and Merchant as an extremely entertaining commentating team. I have no complaints about boxing's commentating for the most part I really liked all the commentators HBO has and showtimes had some good ones as well. Most people don't seem to share the same opinion as I. :bart

You know what, that's the one I always remember too. George was talking about how a stiff jab will 'take the juice out of your back'. And sure enough, there was Shane complaining a few rounds later.

To me, that is the essence of what a color commentary guy should be doing: making fans smarter about what they are seeing and what the ramifications are for the fight moving forward.

I thought Foreman ruined more broadcast than he helped, especially when contrasted with the commentary Roy Jones would give when he sat in for him during that time. But every blue moon, Foreman would drop a real nugget on you like the one above.

But, IMO, Lennox was worse. He just never seemed comfortable and his partners (Lampley, Merchant) didn't seem to know how to pull useful info out of him.

He was entertaining but not very accurate. Manny steward and RJJ are/were by far the best.
