George Foreman v.s Earnie Shavers

  1. Jerry Quarry knocked him out Shavers in 1 round? And you think it would take Foreman longer? Foreman in 1 round.

This would be a repeat of the Lyle- Foreman fight ,which might I remind you was my most favorite fight of all time next to Holmes /Norton

Shavers was a puncher, but his power is als greatly fabled since his KO's are all over a buncha' ham and eggers, etc.... Shavers two best KO's over notable foe's are "Ellis & Shavers."

Foreman was also a wicked puncher in his prime, and he too, KO'd a buncha' ham and eggers while on the rise to Kayoing Joe Frazier in 1973, but he proved far superior to Earnie Shavers in the long run..

    Foreman KO's Shavers in 4 rds...:bbb:deal

Two of my favorites! Earnie might win once or twice in 10 meetings, if he's lucky. Foreman's height and weight would allow him to get to Earnie first and Shavers wouldn't be able to take it. I'd pay big money to see it, though.

  5. MrBill so Foreman was the only person to knock out so called Ham and Eggers? So dick Marciano, So did Tyson, So did Louis, So does every boxer from time to time.

    Foreman TKO4

  9. Ok now I am going to beat up a midget and that will be on you, Wait never mind, I can't fight so a midget would probably beat me up. But Foreman would still win in 1 round. As I said if Quarry and other fighters could do it in 1 round then so could Foreman

I've read that Norton has said Foreman hit him harder.
    Either way, Foreman by K.O.

Agree Foreman in 1 or 2, as soon as George hurts him, he gets him the **** out of there. Be brutal.

I don't see Earnie handling the strength and shoving and pushing and physical style George had in his first career. And I think Earnie is the guy doing the backing up here and that really doesn't do him any favors either. George shoves him and moves him a step or 2 away and then unloads when Earnie is in that no man's land. His only hope is to land that looping right hand over that extended left of Foreman when he starts to muscle Earnie. But George did take a good shot and it just seems to me it's a lot easier for George to execute his gameplan than earnie has of landing over Foreman's left hand.

And once Earnie is hurt and ready to go, he won't last 20 seconds with this guy. He just doesn't have the tools to escape and kill time which would help a ton. Great fight to watch and just who did not want to see these 2 sluggers go at it back then in a gunslinger match like this? I was surprised King did not put this together around 76/77.

  13. Wow Ali said Shavers hit harder? Wow and we know Ali never lies, he never mentions Frazier's power even though Frazier knocked him down. No sane person gives a damn about what Ali says.

Leroy Caldwell was knocked out by Foreman in 2 rounds and by Shavers in 2 rounds. If Shavers punched so much harder then he would of knocked out Caldwell much quicker then. Nobody cares about this punch drunk idiot either.

Shavers has a glass chin and that means he gets knocked out in 1 round.

Having more power doesn't mean a lot if you are not landing it. From what i have seen and numerous opinions Shavers hit harder.

George would beat Shavers though, Shavers has a punchers chance.
