Atlas talks about it in his book. From what I remember, Foreman had done a pscyhe job on Moorer, who showed up at a pre-fight press conference wearing sunglasses. Atlas saw his mistake too late. Moorer was insecure. Foreman knew it and exploited it. Foreman says to Michael: "I see you're wearing sunglasses. Are you afraid?" -or something like that. Atlas responded by pushing him but was actually trying to refocus the attention off of Michael. It was a good strategic move on Teddy's part because otherwise that sunglasses comment would have been hanging in the air. At the next press conference, Moorer was damned if he did and damned if he didn't wear the sunglasses. He didn't, and of course George says something like "I see I got to you about the sunglasses, son." Atlas had to concede that George was a master at this stuff. "Very smart."
As already stated, George got into Michaels head, and Teddy knew he had to do something about it. So he started getting in George's face (who was sitting down) and giving him hell. So George said that famous line and Teddy was pulled off anyway.
i give atlas credit at least he was getting in there and backing up his fighter... pretty damn sad when the undisputed undeafeated heavyweight champion 20 something years old need a trainers help to not be intimidated by a 45 year old ...thats not too cool
It was an amazing moment ...Atlas at times has gotten so angry he refuses to back down to anyone but it is funny to see George almost holding back laughter at the situtation ...I'd love to see it again but have not found it ...
