Foreman`s punching here seems short and accurate, but the slowmo KO highlight shows his punches weren`t landing clean with much power, was Foreman`s power overrated?

Foreman knocked out an opponent in three minutes with punches that didn't land cleanly.

How can this show that his power is overrated?

The guy most have had a weak chin, only one punch connected well, the punch that knocked Breazale out by Wilder was far harder.

Your threads and arguments are really strange. So Foreman's power is overrated because he stopped weak fighter early and didn't land as hard punch as Wilder in one fight?

Earnie Shavers couldn't KO Jerry Quarry, Ron Lyle and others. he caught Quick Tillis with a clean shot which would have stretched other heavies. Does this mean Earnie's power is overrated or that the other guy could take a punch better/had better recoup powers? Before it is said Boom Boom was a bum, he beat Doug Jones and Eddie Machen before meeting Foreman. after the Foreman loss, he beat giant Jack O Halloran and Jimmy Ellis. If I remember rightly, Ron Lyle beat him on a facial cuts stoppage. I can remember seeing Kirkman on the front of an old Ring magazine with the subtitle Boone Kirkman - Heavyweight Title Threat?

Foreman KO’s a guy with one solid shot and some glancing blows and you come to the conclusion his power is overrated? I’d have thought it’s a good indication of how ridiculously heavy handed he is that he scored the early stoppage without landing his best stuff.

And what has Wilder blasting out Breazele got to do with anything? He landed a picture perfect, flush right hand which closed the show. Good on him but it has no relevance to George knocking out a guy nearly 50 years before without landing flush.

I’ve had a tough night at work and this thread has probably annoyed me more than it should but it really is utter bulltish.

    Pull your finger out Mark.

There is no logic to your post. Also, Boone Kirkman did not have a weak chin, he was a tough guy who had a successful career.

I did see Foreman land harder shots on Frazier and Norton, but I do feel his one punch power is overrated, this was pretty sloppy.

Mk2 version, admittedly, but if he were honest, Michael Moorer would disagree.

    Compared to who?

Besides, this was a novice Foreman. Not close to the fighter he became around 1972.

Your often comparing him with Wilder. Is Wilder not sloppy?

Wilder is still an amateur. Foreman left the amateurs after winning a gold medal and went on to be an ATG hwt champion. Wilder has a very very tall mountain to climb to even be mentioned in the same breath as Foreman.

I watched Deontay Wilder be staggered and take 9 rounds to stop the journeyman Eric Molina despite sending him to the canvas on multiple occasions. I feel Wilders power and finishing skills are overrated because of this one fight.

Wilders power mustn’t be that good because I watched Derek Bryant stop Jorge Luis Gonzalez far easier than this.

Now Mark that’s essentially your proposition based on one isolated performance (with numerous other displays by the Foreman that rebut it) backed by an irrelevant opinion that has nothing to do whatsoever with the fighter or fight in question.

    It nonsensical.

Foreman's quick work of a tough guy like Kirkman proves his power. 'Course Foreman couldn't knock him out in the rematch ; - ) .
