Everybody loves Quarry and with good reeason: he was charismatic, courageous and enterntaining. He was the tragic embodiment of some of the best and worst features of boxing.
Quarry goes down by late stoppage after a courageous display. I am actually glad this particular fight never happened. Quarry was too brave and tough for his own good.
Absolutely insane, how accepted Foreman's (obviously generous and dubious) claim has become in this thread.
Foreman brutalizes Quarry. Quarry was skilled vs sluggers in general, but prime Foreman was the gold standard of sluggers. Plus, Quarry had a bad habit of wanting to get into a punch out, like he did against Frazier. Foreman stops him.
