I just uncovered my 1990 tape of Foreman hammering Mike Jameson from Lake Tahoe, Nev......

Jameson was game at heavyweight, but merely top-30 at best.....

But I don't think Jameson had fought for several years prior to fighting Foreman.

He'd been so-so, but sparring a lot in the gym... He was game with Foreman..... A good workout.....

Lakusta came to rumble!!! I remember watching this live as well on Tuesday Night Fights. I kinda miss that program. And the USA network was pretty raw back then as well. Any one remember The Hitchhiker? Anyways, funny how Al Albert mentions about all the millions floating away after Lakusta landed that windmill right of a haymaker on Big George. That comment stuck out the most to me back then and it was cool to hear it again. Yes, Lakusta came to rumble!!!

    "The Hitchhiker" was HBO.

"First and Ten: The Bulls" was Showtime..

Maybe it was re-runs of The Hitchhiker on USA!?!? There was also USA Up...All Night with Rhonda Shear. And didn't they run a Monster Fest type show on the weekend, mostly made up of B-Horror movie knock offs?

It appeared to me George was in the process of throwing a punch himself ,and, was momentarily off balance when Lakusta's shot landed. I don't think he was actually buzzed by it .
    THanks for posting the fight.

Foreman looked good against Sekorski but sloppy and slow against Trane.

235lbs against Qawi was too light, he may have looked better but seemed weak and lacked snap. Best weight on comeback was around 255lbs imo

Foreman was still in around the same shape for those fights with "Sekorski and Trane" in Dec. '87 and Feb. '88, but Guido Trane had better defense than Richard Sekorski had... Styles make fights... Sekorski was simply easier to tag than Trane was... Still, neither were top dogs; merely tune-up fights....

that was an entertaining right hand he tagged foreman with.

mr bills and cannolballs comment about foreman being too light at 235, has got me thinking, and this is off topic, about arreola...he gets so much stick about his weight, but i think if he lost weight he would be weaker, i'm just guessing of course

 too light? foreman at 235 pounds against qawi was perfect, he was much stronger than bowe, lewis, tyson and anyone

Lakusta was n't bad. This was about the time when George's comeback was starting to gain credibility.
