is it george foreman week this week i have read about 10 foreman threads already but they are all good threads i hasten to add what a fight this is i would say Foreman in a slug fest similar to the Lyle fight
yeah but didnt max fight a bit dirty, he might win if the right ref is in the ring to overlook that elbow he landed and had georges eyebrow gapped wide open , blood oozing into his eye making max hard to keep track of due to poor vision. sure max could win but only in this ridiculous scenario.
Baer has a fairly good chance based on styles pure and simple. The smart money would be with Foreman but I could see this fight turning into a combination of Foreman/Lyle and Tua/Ike. The only thing I can promise you is that it will be worth the pay per view.
I concede that I haven't seem much footage of Baer but this seems a bit of a stretch. I think Foreman would **** his **** up, just my assumption.
What a fight. Foreman would win, by stoppage in about three where he has probably been dropped once or twice himself
Would have been a brawl. Foreman by kayo in five. http://www.amazon.com/Joe-Gans-Biog...=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1241836336&sr=1-1
This would be a candidate for FIGHT OF THE YEAR as well as KO OF THE YEAR. Baer, according to many old timers such as Curtis Sheppard, hit harder than Joe Louis. Foreman, generally gets credit for being the hardest hitting HW champion in history, but when Baer landed that over hand right, men dropped like stones too! This would be Lyle/Foreman all over again, almost on par with Dempsey/Firpo, if Baer isn't messing around in there. He knocked down the bigger Carnera 11 times in 11 rounds, so it is safe to say Baer's power rarely was virtually the same in the latter rounds as it would have been in the 1st. Foreman goes down two-three times, but so does Baer go down. Tough Maxie Baer finally has enough in the 6th round after a Foreman BOMB lands on the jaw, staying down for the whole count....Foreman is exhausted, and mumbling through his mouth piece when interviewed afterward.
