From the accounts I've read of the fight, Louis seemed to be the stronger man, despite all that you're saying.

Foreman would crush Rocky plain and simple. Far too big and powerful. How in the hell is Rocky going to get close enough to do any damage? And even if he does Foreman could certainly take a punch. The man was taking punches well into his 40's from bangers like Holyfield/Cooper/Morrison/Cooney and Moorer and was never knocked down once! And while Big George was no speed demon, his hands moved faster than Marciano's. Look at how quickly he disposed of Frazier in thier first fight...nothing slow about that! There's no way in hell a man the size of Foreman gets KO'd by a 5'11' 185lb guy with a 69" reach! Marciano NEVER met a puncher like Foreman. It would like culture shock for him. Give Rocky his due for what he did in his own time, against men of similar size, but it's not fair to try to pit him against a monster like George. Different times, different type of athlete.

It's Foreman Frazier all over again. Rocky would win if, but very unlikely, or shall I say, nearly impossible, the fight would go to the late rounds. Foreman by KO in 2.

Rocky would get small and inside on George and break him down to the body. Foreman never got tested to the breadbasket like Marciano would test him. If featherfisted Young knocked down Foreman, Marciano would destroy him. Remember, Marciano was the hardest puncher ever, tested by the US Air Force and his punches measured 1100 psi, enough to decapitate a grown man. I would put the mortgage on Marciano by KO.

If George has it all his own way he beats anybody. Trouble is nobody has things their own way all the time. Levi Forte went the full distance with George and yet Jack Bodel and Dave zyglewicz had already knocked Forte out. Now, I am not suggesting Bodel and Ziggy hit harder than George Foreman but I am suggesting it is possible that Marciano takes a better shot than Levi Forte.

We all know George was a big man but first time around he was no bigger than Joe Louis was when Marciano beat him give or take one inch or 2 pounds.

We all know Foreman destroyed a version of Joe Frazier that suited him perfectly but Marciano was less conventional and had retired before he became quite as tired as Frazier had become by the time he fought George.

Nobody knows what would happen if George Foreman and Marciano fought because it could not happen.

Everybody is entitled to decide what they think could happen.

I tend to feel that great fighters who proved awkward and hard to beat in real life deserve to also be regarded as awkward and hard to beat in fantasy match ups.

Frazier didn't train for the Foreman fight, which is why he weighed 10 pounds heavier than he did against Ali. He was slow because he was fat.

Foreman was extremely slow. Marciano would have come into the fight in great shape as always, and he would have made it an inside fight.

    Early KO for Marciano.

It is easier to push back the square footing of a Frazier than someone fighting out of side on, crab stance of a Marciano. Regardless of strength. Weight is spread lower. It would be like pushing a car with its brakes on.

Marciano's style was to get into point-blank range and trade, break the opponent down. He was very good at this, slipping and feinting far more than his detractors will admit. It would serve him ill here.

    Volkswagen into a truck.

He only had to keep Dwight Quawi at arms length and he could not do it.

The reason Foreman had such a cake walk with Frazier was Joe no longer had the eyesight to land on the way in. Foreman was lucky Frazier had to walk through his punches to get close. Marciano did not fight like that. Rocky drew taller fighters down to meet him from where he could counter his way into a range only he could work from. Foreman was not sophisticated enough to resist coming into Rocky. That's what Marciano wanted. Far too awkward for raw George.
