Frazier was great up until 1971. A wonderful fighter who could land a pin point, savage left hook at any range but even at his best joe was a one arm bandit. Another great fighter could read this and thats how Ali ruined him even though he lost. Ali hit him far too many times but frazier nearly killed himself trying to win and was never the same. Foreman beat the shell of the great fighter frazier had been.

marciano always had two hands and a beter chin.

  2. wrong. joe frazier was 29 years old and he was undefeated in 1973, he was in his prime, he was not a peak frazier 71, but he was in his prime. it is not matter, foreman would destroy any version of joe, he did not have overweight, because he weighed 217 pounds against ron stander in 1972, and joe was great in this fight, he weighed 214 against foreman. simply styles make fights, foreman would ko any version of joe. joe frazier gave ali the hell in 1975. and you have absolutely, i repeat, absolutely no proof to say that marciano had better chin than frazier, plain and simple. joe was "ko" just against foreman. and george would ko marciano as well. joe frazier would clean the division of marciano. frazier fought in the best era in the hw, and marciano fought in the second worst era in the hw.
marciano had power in both hands but he did not have the reach and the speed.he wa snothing accurate and he would be predictable like the hell. if foreman push back 214 pounds, he would handle 185 pounds with a hand.plain and simple.

How do you say Frazier has more heart? If anything it was equal as those guys would kill to win. Marciano was more awkward and IMO wouldn't be as easy as Frazier was to Foreman. Frazier also doesn't have the consistancy of beating greats like Rocky did(Moore, Louis though he was shot, Charles twice, Walcott twice). Frazier gave his all in the first Ali fight(literally. he wasn't as impressive as he was since) but doesn't have any other ATG heavyweight as a win.(keyword: heavyweight because Foster didn't belong there). He has good wins over Ellis, Quarry, and Bonavena but they weren't great. Based on this I say that Marciano was greater and may possibly be more dangerous than Frazier was against Foreman. He would land on Foreman and it would hurt. Yes I like Rocky but you can't count him out in matchups as he could run on willpower alone.

Ali put Frazier in a foulfest the second time around and almost came close to death in the third fight. Foreman did beat the shell of Frazier but he would have always beat Frazier but maybe not as easily as he did. The fights with Ali toke out a lot from Frazier. They toke out a lot from both men. Marciano did have bombs in both hands but I'm not sure how his resistance was compared to Frazier's.

Joe frazier dropped a level against stander. he was not recognisable as the same guy who beat jimmy ellis. Frazier was a machine then. His footwork and the way of timing his hook into geting the full steam on it had been so perfect (that it was 75% of his defence) was now absent. Stander still took a beating but he wouldnt have joe struggling like he did had he fought the frazier of the ellis fight. Frazier losing 10% timing was like losing most of his defence. no wonder foreman had a picnic.

Marciano was a nightmare for precise speedy fighters who all thought they could time marciano on the way in but they were all wrong. there was no patern to the way marciano fought for them to read. Frazier had a smooth rythem but there was a patern to it and without the edge of timing he was a sitting duck for george. Marciano came in low like he was about to comit a takedown, much like arturo godoy against joe louis only rocky could land a blind right on the way down into a crouch. Foreman NEVER saw right hands coming! George never got hit as hard with a right hand like marciano threw.

Having a longer reach only works if you can keep your feet away from the other mans feet but marciano would always be treading on georges toes since foreman didnt realy use his reach. He would be winding up and pulling back for his wild swings from his upright mummy stance. To be close enough to push marciano back george would also be close enough to be hit.

Rocky was amoung the best fighters who only realy failed once they were past their best. Obviously george could hit and would do well but foreman cant aford to be open to marciano's best hand.

:deal Yeah!! And plus Marciano didn't fight in any way similarly to Frazier - whatsoever - Marciano was a much smarter and patient puncher - Frazier was all out nervous energy - Marciano took his time to really plant his punches - saying Marciano and Frazier were similar is like saying Joe Louis & Mike Tyson were similar just because they both had handspeed and big power - they were two different fighter - to different personalities and fought their own fights in different ways - end of - the comparison is utterly irrelevant

LOL, so Marciano is going to land lead rights on Foreman now ?

This is a mismatch, as a matter of fact Marciano was never thought as someone special when he fought. Was he tough , sure , skilled ? Somewhat but very crude and ate a awful lot of leather from tomatoecans and was stretched by oldtimers with one foot in the soup kitchen. This are the cold hard facts.

Ali had the speed/size ring intelligence plus Guerilla warfare by the mouth before the fight, Young had the speed of hand and foot and Lyle had size and brute strengh and all of them are taller than Rocky by a considerable margin. Rocky got none of the above, I am not even sure about his brute strengh by todays standard.

Now someone will produce some silly newspaper clippings back in the day worshipping Marciano, lol , the media and reporters the never lie or make **** up, no way........I let you Einsteins figure it out which very popular old time fighter called reporters the "lowest form of labor".

I am no Marciano hater, I had at one time all of Marcianos shows of the sixties on vhs but one got to seperate fact from fiction and against modern ATG heavyweights starting in the 60's it is going to get very, very ugly for him.

Marciano wins this. foreman cant really punch he just kinda pushes people around till he gets the tko.....if marciano dempsey fitzsimmons or louis landed that many clean punches on fraizer he would have been dead, not still standing.

What's so unusually about that? I think he's the best?? Who do you think is the best heavyweight ever?? Do you think Foreman would beat your best heavyweight ever?? :huh Or anyone else for that matter?? If you do you have a pretty strange angle on it :huh you can't rank someone as the best of all time but then turn around and say well he is the best ever but George Foreman beats him every time - else that means George Foreman is the best of all time - which blatantly isn't the case

  13. i agree 100%

  15. the only bull**** is the bunch of crap what you said...
marciano weighed 178-187 pounds. frazier weighed 205-217 in 1968-72.even a green frazier weighed 200 pounds.the best rocky weighed 183-185, the best frazier weighed 205-210 pounds.
you are saying that frazier had 20-25 pounds of fat.... what a bunch of crap.... plain and simple. frazier had almost no fat when he faced ali, ellis, mathis or machen, and still he was 20 pounds heavier than rocky. frazier had very big bones. frazier was bigger than marciano. the only version of frazier that had fat, was frazier76, he weighed 224 pounds.

frazier was not ripped as tyson but he was a very compact guy, very strong with very big structure of bones.he had legs of superhw.so according to you, a person without definite musculature is fat? bull****!!! frazier was a bull, he had big bones. he was bigger than marciano
