:good yes I noticed that. Seems like anything plausible supporting Marciano is met with outrage. Style advantage and size is one thing, stamina issues, inexperience and defencive naivety are also important factors associated with young George Foreman.

Yes George was big and hit hard but George got to the title without meeting a single outstanding contender so he was not so well prepared for one as a defending champion as be could have been.

I repeat we could be debating how Marciano loses to a guy who never won the title had George fought the outstanding contender of 1972 to earn his shot. Nobody likes to hear it but it's true.

There are very few men around his own stature I would pick over Marciano.Dempsey, perhaps Langford , that's it.It would have been interesting to see Rocky in with a fresher Charles and a younger Walcott given both of them gave him life and death.:think

But Marciano was not so limited against punchers. If you think Joe was so much easier to hurt than Marciano why do you think there has to be some comparison with how Marciano would fare against Foreman?

Then let's revise it to make it more palatable.. Rocky Marciano an Italian American and representative of a race that provides some of the best world cuisine would positively destroy any man who dared sign to fight him. His being behind against Walcott before stopping him was just Rocky ducking low in the weeds waiting for the right opportunity and giving the crowd its money's worth. Had he been in there with Ali, Holmes, Foreman, Bowe, Lewis, Wlad, Tyson or St. Peter he wouldn't have wasted anytime nor taken any chances. They'd all get knocked the **** out. His chin makes George Chuvalo's look like a piece of waterford crystal.. His punching power makes Earnie Shavers punches feel like pillowes. His work ethic makes being a hired laborer during the great depression look like a lazy welfare case...Rocky is #1 p4p, #1 heavyweight and #1 in human achievement. Nobody else comes close.

I don't hate Marciano, I'd say I am quite a fan but I'm not blinkered enough to deny that the white rock goes down as easily as the black rock.

    Stupid post.

Has anybody even said they would bet the house on Rocky in this thread or implied as much? No.

The "FOREMAN KO" wankfest is just getting interrupted by some well rounded speculation and Devil's Advocate playing, and we just can't have that.

Twice? In the second bout a physically shot Frazier clowned Foreman in a possibly even round, and clearly won two more before running out of gas. Hardly a repeat of the first fight, but don't let reality drestory the myth.

foreman won twice. whats your issue with him winning twice exactly being used as evidence that's he superior vs frazier?

Why do you think that evidence of 2 blanket wins equals a loss (in your eyes)? In the normal world that is, not in topsy turvy world.

Because a W or an L doesn't tell the whole story.

Who said Foreman lost? The rematch wasn't a blanket win though, it was competitive with Frazier winning two of the four completed rounds.

Frazier was more focused for the rematch but no longer had the stamina to pull it off. There's reason to believe a focused and fit Frazier prior to the first Ali fight could have gave Foreman a harder fight.

    :yep
What if Joe Frazier had no punch resistance left and took George too lightly?

Why should Rocky go down so quickly as Joe if he has the better chin?

Why can't Marciano tough it out later into the fight like Scrap iron johnson, Peralta and quawi did? Why dies everyone have to be so fixed on Frazier being such the template for Marciano?

Did Joe have Rockys right hand,Rockys chin, Or (when he fought George) Rockys conditioning?
