I don't believe you have even seen the fight or have forgotten it. You will likely not revisist it because seeing a flabby Joe Frazier take two rounds and clown your boy will shatter your "blow out" fantasy. So no point to it. I've posted a newspaper article that shared by observation, nothing more can be said on the matter.

Just an observation, not an insult. These threads just come off as wankery to me. I don't see the point in an endless chain of the same posts over and over again, and ganging up on anybody that tries to spark a debate.

 

Now do you see why I brought up Marciano being Italian? It's not an ethnicity thing for me but it is for many of his critics. Eventually somebody has to bring up the "mob connections" to explain Marciano's success.

And your memory has proven to be unreliable. You were dead wrong about Cooper/Ali as well but that didn't stop you from insisting you were right over and over again in the face of video evidence. And your dead wrong about Foreman winning every round. Even Coswell gave Frazier the 4th and he was having a rapturous heart attack everytime Foreman farted in the match.

Flabby Frazier took two rounds from your boy and was giving him a hard time before running out of gas.

I was only joking about reference to Italian food. I never thought he had mob connections. I always thought Tony Galento and Primo Carnera did though, even though many insisted that they didn't

Heres Some friendly advice. Get back to me when you have found out who was relevent to Marcianos era, who the belt holders actualy were during this period, who the highest rated fighters were, who they lost to and who Rocky fought.

 

Funny, one of the biggest mob fighters of the time was actually Billy Fox. Got two un******ted LHW title shots with a suspicious KO/Win streak, manufactured wins on his record, and two victims in Ossie Harris and LaMotta admiting to dives.

 

The mob connection thing with Marciano is interesting, because you'd think that he'd be a prime target for some mobsters, either to make a buck off him or have a piece of him or to enhance their status in legitimate circles but yet, I've never read or come across anything that suggests he had dealings with mobsters as an active fighter, at least, not in a way that would influence his career one way or the other.
It really is strange, but it seems as though they were content to leave him alone.

As a retired fighter 'bouncing' (as he liked to call it) all over the country he came into contact with several mobsters and they had a cordial, even friendly, relationship. But they seemed to leave him alone for the most part.

If I recall, one small-time mobster did try and get his claws into Rocky but was literally chased off.

I don't see this as a waste of time if I did I wouldn't be on here and calling people wankers, that is just childish bollocks. Just watchd the fight again, the best I can do is give Frazier a share of the 2nd.
