Thank you for this totally irrelevant information which I, and almost anyone else still reading this shitheel of a thread, already knew.

There are varying degrees of one handed punchers and Frazier used his right quite a bit .. that being said if there is an argument that Rocky had a shot against Foreman based on a right I could not disagree more as those rights were not thrown by a tiny guy w a 67 " reach but by giants with huge wing spans from the outside.

does not matter if a guy can get inside, based on the fact that Marciano had a small reach he shouldn't have beaten anyone, and if size was the only consideration when the older George Foreman fought the older Quawi, I was surprised how many right hands the 5'6 Q was able to land before being stopped on his feet and I wondered could you imagine if Quawi could punch, its a matter of range. When the 6"2.5 inch Holyfield fought James Toney, JT was able to do what many before and after could not do even the 7"300lb Valuev and that was stop EH and body shots and inside game was a factor. James Toney is 5"9 but he was able to fight in his range.

Everyone can guess what they want but who did Frazier KO or Drop with his right hand he used it and so did Gerry Cooney (look at the Jimmy Young fight) but it did not pass the tipping point for power.

I am not saying that Marciano KO's Foreman but I think he had a better chance than Frazier did based on style and weaponry (right hand power) and I just dont buy into the Joe Frazier repeat KO 2...I see Marciano making a fight out of it and landing some right hands because Foreman was also there to be hit and Ron Lyle did well because he was able to land and take a decent shot and not fold not because he was 6'3, Ken Norton was 6'3, Dwight Qwawi was 5'6

again Foreman was my favorite guy back in the 70's but in retrospect he was beatable and I still don't know how well he would do had he fought a Quarry,Bonavena or Shavers or Leotis Martin type because Ron Lyle was not an elite puncher by any means and he did well enough

Can we please stop the Quawi did well against Foreman narrative? Fat, old George pounded him into the canvas in methodical, predictable fashion.

We had a Marciano in the 1990's... his name was Kenny Keene.

Rocky was underestimated and still is. Despite what the critics here think, I believe he could have taken Foreman. Marciano's style isn't exactly the same as Frazier. True, they both swarm, but Frazier did and up and down bobbing that left him vulnerable to the vicious uppercuts of Foreman. Rocky does a learn and roll to the side, plus he gets very low. I could see him tiring Foreman down from missed punches and then nail the body. Rocky has ko'd 43 or 49 opponents and known as one of hardest punchers in boxing history. I don't underestimate him for a minute. This would be an awesome fight though. Both men were champions and both will always be legends. It could go either way, honestly and there would be some knockdowns in this fight . You better believe that.

:good good post, the thing is the best fighter Foreman fought up until Frazier was Peralta who was a sub-200lb heavyweight but fought primarily as a light-heavyweight and Foreman could not put him down in 20 rounds and the biggest puncher prime Foreman fought was Ron Lyle who was not by any means or stretch a elite puncher and Lyle had Foreman down 2X and wobbled enough for the ref to stop the fight in Lyle's favor....

It would only be a guess to say Foreman could handle Rocky's right hand or that Rocky would get hit like Frazier because Frazier did or go down 6 times like Frazier. I can see Foreman getting hit and hurt badly and Rocky had stamina, killer instinct and late power so Foreman's better hope the fight ends before the 5th.

Like I said these things are just simply guesses but I have to laugh at the predictions of 1-2 rd blow-out by Foreman.....this is a dangerous fight for both men the absolute most dangerous fight for both and power nor size may not be the only factor to victory

A lot of fighters George pounded into the canvas hit him with right hands in both careers. I get that George still won in methodical predictable fashion. But it's worth mentioning that shorter swarming or slugging types hit George a lot with over hand rights. Ted Gullick, scrap Iron Johnson, Luis Pires and a host of guys old George later fed on also did too. Ken Lacuster and a cast of faded cruiserweights including Qwawi still clipped Old George with right hands. They did not hurt him just because they were too small, they all got Foremans attention, what they had in common was they did not have proven world class right hand knockout power. Rocky Marciano did have proven Right handed knockout power. If a lot of shorter guys hit George with right hands, before losing, it is still worth mentioning.

    What about the Foreman-Qawi.(1988-03-19) ?
Qawi was a 5' 5.5" featherfisted fighter who was far away
from his prime. The overrated big G. could beat this crap(for heavyweight)
    fighter by tko7.
It wasn't an impressive thing at all.And maybe Foreman had problem
    with this guy.
Marciano was taller and much more better and harder puncher than
    this crap Qawi.
The Frazier thing means nothing because he was total ridicolous
    against Foreman.Frazier's style/strategy were ****.
Frazier humiliated himself by this marching into the punch tactic.
Plus Frazier was an incredible weak fighter. He was so weak at weightlifting
and slow at sprinting in a The Superstars contest.
Frazier had heart he could fight but was an incredible weak man.
Slow,weak,glass-chinned Frazier was an ideal target for a clumsy no too skilled Foreman.
Frazier never knocked a real good fighter out.
And Marciano? He could knock "no name" fighters like Joe Louis,
    Archie Moore,Ezzard Charles,Walcott,Harry Matthews.
Harry Matthews' whole carrier rec:w90(ko61)-l7(ko3)-drawn6/103 fights
    585 rounds.And only 3 ko losses(including a back injury ko).
"What a glass chin" maybe only 2 power ko losses/103 fights and 585 rounds!
(Frazier(Foreman's best win) has only 37 !!! fights.)
Matthews could beat fighters like Rex Layne,Ezzard Charles,Nardico,
For example Matthews was 182 lbs but he could beat the 200 pounds
    Ezzard Charles.
    Marciano or Foreman.
Marciano won his every fights. He was an incredible good puncher.
He had great stamina and chin.He was tough. He had heart.
Foreman? Clumsy, mediocre skill, easy to hit,bad stamina and losses.
I think Foreman was a cherry-picker.He had a long carrier
but he had only 9-10 remarkable wins.(Frazier 2times,Lyle,Norton,Moorer,
    Stewart,Savarese and Schulz Chuvalo?,Cooney? .)
    - But the Stewart fight was close.Stewart humiliated his face.
    - Savarese fight was very close.
    -Foreman was down against Lyle.
    - Schulz fight was close.:tong
    -Moorer was a glass-chinned fighter.:huh
    -Norton was a glass-chinned fighter.:scaredas:
-Was Cooney in prime? I doubt it.:tired
-Chuvalo? I think he was a tough punchin' bag.:bbb

Lyle was able to exchange with Foreman and connect with rights because he was the same height with a 76" reach his punches were coming at the same level . Marciano with an 8 " less reach and being 5 inches shorter would have considerable difficulty in emulating Lyle's success.
He was also 35lbs lighter than Lyle.

You said Lyle was not a puncher in an earlier post.
I watched that fight last night, I defy anyone to watch it and honestly say Lyle was not throwing extremely hard punches.
I say Lyle hit as hard in that fight as anyone Marciano faced and certainly as hard or harder than Walcott and Moore.

Peralta was 197lbs for his first fight with Foreman ,that is 9lbs more than Moore weighed for Marciano,12lbs more than Charles did ,and13lbs more than Lastarza did.

Peralta was 196lbs in the return with Foreman

The only challenger Marciano faced heavier than Peralta was the 5'10", 35lbs overweight ****ell.

Peralta had not fought as a lhvy for 4 years. He was a heavyweight.

Prior to challenging Marciano, Moore was still a lhvy and had defended that title at 175 just 3 months earlier ,and 4 years after was still making 175 !
    Question
In 119 fights, how many fighters put Peralta down?
Answer ONE! Mauro Mina when Peralta was a lightheavyweight ,11 years earlier!
Peralta was stopped 3 times, once by Mina once by Pastrano on a cut eye and once when he was rescued by the referee , staggering and wobbly by Foreman.

Here is the report, which I provided before but you ignored.

"Peralta suffered a cut over his left eye in the third round.
Foreman staggered Peralta with two left hooks in the seventh round.
Foreman never dropped Peralta to the canvas, but referee Elmer Costa gave him an eight-count after he lay helplessly against the ropes late in the tenth round. After Foreman blasted Peralta into the ropes again, Costa stopped the fight."
    Now enough of the BULL****!

I think the tall Lyle was 220 lbs against Foreman !!!
Ali was 216.5 pounds against George "Father".
Don't try to wash the brains !:hi:

It's amazing. The tall Lyle could punch the slow, easy to hit, clumsy 6'3.5"
Foreman. The 5'11" Chagaev beat the 7" unbeaten Valuev. And Valuev never was down or out.And Valuev's typical fighting weight was more than 310 pounds. But yes Lyle showed "amazing skill".Just he was crap as hell:
    no speed,no defense,easy to hit,no stamina.:huh

Pires is 6'2" .4inches taller than Marciano
Gullick is 6'0".". 2 inches taller than Marciano
Lakusta is 6'1.5" . 2.5 inches taller than Marciano
All three have a correspondingly and significantly longer reach than Marciano.

Johnson is short but 32lbs heavier than Marciano.Foreman stopped him in7rds.

Any of those guys drop Foreman?

They did not need to drop him. They were not knockout punchers at elite level.

All those guys were shorter than advertised. Each looked at least 3 inches shorter than Foreman was. So much so that Don Dunphy remarked on Pires height compared to George in particular. Lakusta was not 6'1", anything over 5'11" was back combed curls. When Ken fought Tua, standing bolt upright to Tua's crouch he certainly did not tower over Tua like fighters listed over 6feet always did.

Scrap iron Johnson and quawi were even shorter than Marciano but their extra weight somehow helped them reach Foremans chin with right hands?

Show me proof of this, not" your impressions"

None of them were short swarmers which is precisely my point. Foreman stopped both men, a Johnson who went 10rds with Quarry and Frazier and 7 with Liston.and Foreman was 39 when he beat up Qawi.
You're getting beat up so much by McGrain you must be punchy.:think
