We have to remember that we are talking about the amateur version of George here. For all his power and finishing ability, he was still very raw, barely a real Boxer yet. By the time he won in Munich, Stevenson was the finished article. George would have his moments and could certainly hurt Stevenson but Teo's class would come through and George may need to rely on that sturdy chin of his.
This is it. I'd favor Stevenson tho not by a lot. He stayed amateur and ended up more developed and complete in the ams than guys that turned pro like Foreman. Teofilo was basically a professional amateur if you get my drift. This for me gives him the advantage in a fight between two fantastic amateurs imo. I'm not counting Foreman out tho.
In a way Stevenson was a pro, he lived in a communist country where you are not allowed to profit monetarily from participating in sports like here in the USA. But he did have extensive amateur experience.
Oh yeah. Stevenson had a nominal " Job ", but trained virtually full time. I think the guy I was replying to was trying distort Teo's quote to make it sound like he was scared of Foreman. That just wasn't the case. He was asked a lame question and flat batted it.
