Holmes has the best chance, Fury would go some rounds but he'd have to engage George and that ain't good. The rest ain't doing it though Byrd has some of the ingredients needed to win.
Agree with you Holmes and Fury have the best chances, Byrd would get splatted IMO look at what Ibeabuchi did to him.
i don’t see why Fury would HAVE to engage George with the kind of height and reach he’d have. And he DID after all take the best wilder had to offer in terms of power.
Holmes my top pick, then Fury, then Byrd. The others have the skills but I'm not sure that they had the size.
That’s reasonable. Chris Byrd could potentially give Foreman a hard night though I wouldn’t pick him to win
Holmes, Fury and possibly Byrd. I'd throw Vitali in there as well he has the height, reach, and fights well at a distance to decision Big George.
I'd take Holmes and Fury to beat any version of Foreman. Foreman avoided Holmes in his comeback so I think Foreman would agree that he could not beat Holmes. Younger Holmes against younger Foreman, I think Holmes had better skills and better stamina, the first 3-4 rounds could be dangerous, but then Holmes would take over and stop Foreman. Fury is just too big, too fast, has too much stamina, I don't see either version of Foreman giving Fury a problem. Foreman was a guy who depended on size. Against a fast, 6-9, 275 pound Fury, neither version of Foreman does well. Byrd could beat him too. 1970s Foreman would have a shot if he could get to Byrd before he (Foreman) gassed, but he probably wouldn't and Byrd would beat him. Old Foreman is probably too slow and would get swollen up on his way to a decision loss.
Byrd would get slaughtered. He gets a ton of mileage out of his "victory" over an injured Vitali and the 1 armed 1 dimensional Tua plodding forward and making zero adjustments. He got splattered by Wladmir twice, stopped by Povetkin, and was demolished by Ike. His record against punchers is actually very iffy and questionable. He was stopped at light heavyweight as well. The only way George loses is if he gasses out trying too hard to go for the knockout and Byrd fights super cautious from start to finish. Holmes would be a 50/50 fight. Real shame it didn't happen as it would have been a battle for the ages. Fury could definitely pull off something with his long reach and tricky tactics. He could even force George to respect him by stepping forward, throwing right hands, and leaning on him, although he'd leave his belly and chin open for uppercuts.
