you wonder if he hadnt been dehaydrated, if that would have also helped his conditioning and stanima in many of his fights...including the Ali fight..oh well, we will never know.

Maybe if he had been properly hydrated, he never would have had his religious awakening.......

Foreman took some real heavy-duty bombs from Morrison. I was shocked at how well Foreman took Morrison's punches at age 44. Morrison dropped Ruddock with similar punches and Foreman never wavered. He was a tough, tough, tough man!!!!

But it always puzzled me how Holyfield was able to seriously hurt Foreman on more than one occasion but seemingly bigger punchers like Morrison and Briggs could not. Either way, Foreman had a great chin!!!

Except Dick Sadler (who got a lot less stick for his name than he deserved) was not his trainer by 1977.

his chin was great in 2nd career agreed but then again he did not fight guys like lyle when was older

say if he fought, razor ruddock, or bowe or bruno or even micheal dokes when he actually trained

things could be quite different, also morrison was on the move for most of the fight so that took some sting from his shots.....

but yeah a guy like ruddock could have really tested if that chin got better

If you combined the old george and the young George you would have the Greatest heavyweight ever.

i do however recall seeing reading that he did dry out before the ali fight..he says he was very thirsty because he was dried out...his trainer gave him water, foreman said it tasted funny..but when he mentioned that the trainer just told him to drink it..which is what foreman bases his statement that he may have been drugged on...anyhow...regardless of the drugging thing..it is known that he did dry out for fights.

Accumulation and accurate punching. Holy landed like a 20 punch combination and still couldn't get Foreman down though.

also the few times holy did stagger him it was on counters....foreman threw a big shot..and holy caught him with his own..and foreman staggered...so he not only didnt see holy's punch..but he had his own force added into it...and yes..then holy landed a load of shots.

Good point, Holy was a terrific counter puncher.

just watching how he reacted to punches shows thats not the case..and yes he was the "same man" in a sense...but psychologicallly he was a different man..and he was physically 20 - 30 pounds bigger..so thicker neck and all....
