I really don’t think anyone cares anymore as much as you. Swaggy what’s the end game? Are you trying to annoy me off the forum? Convince me Foreman is any good? I don’t understand lol You just kinda show up and complain what about my boxing opinions or quote me from literal years ago, sometimes that’s all you contribute to a thread. it’s really lame.

Cut the childish insults and stop dodging the facts. I laid out a simple truth: Foreman was barely 21 and just getting started — that’s not some agenda, it’s the damn reality. If you want to debate the topic at hand, bring something real to the table instead of your whiny *****ing about old posts or weak personal attacks.

lol your part time job is hurling “personal attacks” at me, I don’t care about “debating” with you because I don’t care what you have to say about boxing.

If you don’t care what I have to say about boxing, then stop wasting everyone’s time with your pointless attacks. This isn’t a playground for you to troll — it’s a forum to discuss boxing. Either contribute something meaningful or shut the **** up.

Laugh all you want, but unlike you, I’m actually contributing something worth reading. When you’re ready to drop your childish behavior and have a real discussion like an adult, you know where to find me. Until then, enjoy the playground.

    Hi Swag.
There is a small segment in the film 12 Angry Men, where a polite old man is shouted down by an ignorant young juror, the old man turns to Henry Fonda and says " why he should be taught a lesson " Fonda replies " he can't hear you, he never will " leave it buddy, your better than this.

The person you’re putting in the place of a “polite old man” in your example has been slinging personal insults for literal YEARS over subjective fantasy sports he is not “better than this” I say that respectfully and meaning no ill will towards you Mike you are always a polite man and I admire that, it isn’t my strong point I’d argue over a fly on the wall and I’ll admit that.

I apologize, Mike. I’ve had ongoing issues with this poster and have ignored him for over two years despite his repeated attempts to instigate and bait me. Lately, due to some personal matters, my tolerance has been lower than usual, and I regret sinking to his level. I’ll be putting him back on ignore so I don’t have to deal with this nonsense again. Thanks for your advice.

When gaging Foreman’s (and a very young, early career Foreman at that) strength relative to that of O’Halloran’s, it’s obviously remiss not to allow for the obvious strength of a fully matured O’Halloran.

The guy was huge and would still be so by today’s standards. He also played pro football, carrying that much more weight before embarking on a pro career in boxing - good chance that he lifted weights during that career - he had a pronounced musculature that at least reflected same.

He pushed Foreman back a few times - but it wasn’t easily done nor anything to write home about - and there’s reason to think he couldn’t have at least done same to a fully matured Lennox Lewis, who himself was demonstrably strong.

A very young Foreman’s balance/anchoring also wasn’t perfect at that early stage of his career.

Any attempt to use the O’Halloran fight as evidence that Foreman’s strength wasn’t all that carries no weight and is quite simply a biased reach.

    Hi Buddy.
Appreciate your prompt and measured reply, I have have lot of history with Swag, truth be told he was rather dismissive of a post of mine, way back, but he was man enough to correct himself and apologise, every now and then he allows himself to be dragged into meaningless arguments and maybe says things, that in the cold light of day wouldnt otherwise, the old man reference was not meant as an exact simerly, and I wasn't overly casting you as the villian, I apologise if that's how it came across, so I follow and like your contributions, as I have said to you in the past, and will continue to do so, you and Swag are both knowledgeable and post many a interesting topic, but you then go and blot your copy book, with unnecessary jibes and insults, you are both better than that for sure, so going forward why don't you both draw a line under past misdemeanors, you will feel much better about one and other, and carry on with your stellar contributions.
Once again sorry if I offended you, it was not my intention.
stay safe you two, and lets chat soon.
    Mike.

In the second exchange, Canelo ducks under a hook, counters with an uppercut to the body and quickly raises his right hand back to his chin to block GGG’s counter hook. In 0:10 he throws an overhand, then immediately ducks under GGG’s counter hook and rolls his head away from a cross afterwards. In 0:16 he once again uses the counter-uppercut to the body. Then he feints another body uppercut to get GGG to lower his guard, slips an uppercut to the head between his arms, then he again blocks the counter-hook with his right hand before circling away from a cross.

If you can watch any of that and say they are just trading with leaky defense we should probably stop arguing, cuz you DKSAB.

    .

Wow, I’m really impressed with the way he is landing jabs and throwing combinations against guys who don’t even have their hands raised. Quite lucky too, because Louis commonly drops his other hand when he is punching during a combo and serves his chin on a platter.

You’re acting as if Louis, alongside most at the elite level who drop their hands, does not understand the risks of what he’s doing. When he’s in a vulnerable position he’s still usually fast enough to recover his guard on time to block and frame punches, as well as to duck and roll in time just as GGG and Canelo do when they goof up and yes even modern fighters at times leave their chin exposed while throwing combinations. You can find it in any fight, though relying on your reflexes while having low hands was more common at the time due to the tiny gloves, it’s still seen in any era.
Louis was trained by one of the greatest boxing minds of all time whose had 172 documented bouts against the best lighter weighted fighters of his time, though Blackburn himself claimed to have 385 fights. The fighters of the period more than made up for their lack of amateur experience through their early hardships as professionals. Blackburn, in particular, shined early as special talents usually do so he got a taste of elite level talents early on. Louis had a as good a teacher as anyone when it comes to how to think in the ring.

I’m fine with saying Canelo and Ward were more skilled than Louis but the gap isn’t as significant as you’re describing. Louis weighed 195 in his career peak performance against Baer which isn’t THAT much more than what Canelo, Ward and other super middles and light heavys would weigh after rehydrating, where he well took into account thinking and care in the ring. Sure, Baer couldn’t box, but Louis showed that he could box as well as any man his size in history ever has. Everything you’re ascribing to Canelo is there; the measure of distance, the timing, the accuracy, the defensive responsibility, the punch placement. Arguably the greatest technical display in heavyweight history

You’re a nice guy Mike but respectfully he can kick rocks, he has spent LITERALLY years pretending he’s a victim? following me thread to thread just to insult me personally over boxing opinions  not even my arguments. it’s become quite a one sided feud, I don’t even dislike the guy anymore I find it silly to hold onto all that anger over fantasy boxing - none of us but a select few have any skin in the boxing game, fictional fights and sports talk are not something to be worked up about.

Nothing easier. Here's a jab merchant who is also a superb combination puncher:

OMG! Today is Glass Cobra's education day! Feel yourself elevated, lil buddy. :abduct:

You have now discovered how drills in the gym translate to being able to do those things in a fight :deal: I know that the thought never crossed your mind before, being set on awesome comments such as "Galento hits 3x harder than Golovkin" and other similar gems. But it is true. Boxers often drill outside of their bouts to become better :deal:

You are mistaken. My foot isn't in my mouth, but my shoe IS in your ass.

Now, I don't want to distract too much from the beating @SouthpawsRule is administering to you, but you need to explain why you think that Galento hit 3x harder than Golovkin. Shouldn't be too hard for a, um, gentleman of your luminous intelligence. Take a few hours if you need to compose your thoughts.
