During Foreman's comeback, he created an image of a fun-loving guy who rarely had anything bad to say. He often talks about how he wants to be the nicest person in the world. I see a lot of people question his sincerity and say it was all a front and he was shifty. I want to hear some opinions on his persona.
look at his early carrer , that is who foreman is , he found god thats awesome ,it helped his with his aggresion , but he still is the same ol foreman , i wouldnt want to **** him off
He's developed somewhat of a reputation among boxing circles for being phony and pretending to be this smiling nice guy when he's said to be much different when the cameras are off. I've heard mixed things about him. One person I know took a picture with George and said he was pretty cool. Others said that he was pretty mean at the recent Hall of Fame induction, and wouldn't give his autographs on certain pictures of him (ones of the Ali fight). Jim Lampley and Larry Merchant are among those who have said he's not what he appears to be.
Here's some anecdotes about Foreman: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vault/article/magazine/MAG1005936/2/index.htm
Didnt he say that he has a stigmata and all that bull****? Foreman is probably still the same dude. He's just got older, and a lot richer
Most of the stories I hear was that he ignored requests for autographs and that persona of being nice was only nonsense. He was a good fighter and could punch hard.. That is for sure. A real great? His power was great and he had great wins. His comeback did not impress me that much. He was bigger than most guys and had so many chances to win the title. Finally winning it on Michael Moorer's weak chin, but losing to Tommy Morrison by decision a year before.
