George Gardner vs Philadelphia Jack O'Brien

    Who would have won at their bests?

    Jack has deeper resume, but Garnder was more dangerous puncher and he edged another good boxer - Root.

    Gardner might actually have the better wins.

    It's really hard to know where Fitz was at when O'Brien beat him, though he did atleast beat him.

    I suspect if they had a few fights at their primes they'd probably go either way, probably either O'Brien by points or Gardner by KO.

    It's interesting to me that O'Brien never fought Gardner or Root. Is it just a coincidence?

    O'brien had more skills, though he was a little chinny. Gardner was a solid light heavy with some power. If they fought, I'd pick O'brien over 15 or 20 rounds.
