I guess you could look at it like this, De Gale made it a viable option to give Groves the benefit of the doubt in the swing rounds by making an enemy of so many people, maybe that's wrong, but its hard to subdue human instincts, and maybe that's why he lost, he put more emphasis on himself to make more of an impact on Groves than he did, therefore Groves got the decision because De Gale wasn't dominant enough? which he only needed to be, more so than Groves, cause he set the standard for himself.

I think Groves should give Degale the rematch it will be by fare his biggest pay day option, besides him fighting Degale I could care less about seeing him fight he is a boring fighter.

It was a close fight with the correct result imo

the average scores from 15 ESB cards:

    Round 1: Degale (14-0-1)
    Round 2: Groves (0-15-0)
    Round 3: Groves (0-14-1)
    Round 4: Groves (0-15-0)
    Round 5: Even (6-8-1)
    Round 6: DeGale (15-0-0)
    Round 7: Groves (1-13-1)
    Round 8: Groves (1-10-4)
    Round 9: Degale (15-0-0)
    Round 10: Groves (0-15-0)
    Round 11: Degale (14-0-1)
    Round 12: DeGale (12-0-3)

    Groves 115-114 Degale

The most contentious round was the 5th, the 7th & 8th were also closer than the other 9 rounds which were fairly conclusive (Groves 4-5 DeGale)

2/3 British judges at ringside also agreed but any result could be justified

Now round 12....According to Gareth A Davies he said he's seen scorecards from judges today and 1 gave a draw and the other two scored in favor of Groves.

As i've stated previously it's only round i seen and i gave it to DeGale and felt it was a rather simple round to score.

    Seems like most would agree.

Groves is only 23yrs old give the Kid a break, let's see how his next few fights pan out, it should give us a better picture to how far he can go.

But if he keeps learning and improving like he has been doing then future might be bright for the kid.

Already he has shown that he has a lot of drive and heart which are hallmarks of a champion.

That does seem strange, will the 3 official cards be published?

Either way a close fight, DeGale won more rounds decisively but Groves won the closer ones

Not sure mate but i think i posted the interview on this thread a page back.

As you say it sounds close anyways. James had 12 rounds to KO him like he said he would..

Yeah. I thought the fight was a draw but I fully see your point. He might still win a title though and come through on the merit of his heart and determination.

He doesnt scream world champ to me.

I still think degale has more potential if he gets a new trainer, i think what we saw from groves is about the best we will see from him tbh
