The general consensus seems to be Groves is now the best in britain, but where does he go from here?

That chin and heart kept him in the fight right through the hard times where he turned the contest.

Yeah the scoring was criminal, without doubt. Don't remember Froch out on his feet when he backed Groves against the ropes and made him stumble all over and stare at the canvas before the ref stopped it, premature or not.

Groves gave an excellent perfomance, made Froch look average. The fight did turn, Froch hurt Groves before it was stopped. If it carried on myself and many others believe Groves would have been pummeled. The early stoppage of this fight has just left such a bad taste all round now. A rematch has too happen. Groves knows what he has to do if he gets the fight he craves. We will never know what would have happened if the fight carried on but the classic tell tale signs were all there. In the long run this stoppage should end up being a blessing in disguise for Groves. He has so much talent and room for improvement, lets see how his career progresses.

Groves would of survived the round, come out he next round and pick froch off for the remainder of the fight.
He would of then went on to be robbed on points

Fair enough post mate, but i don't agree with it all. I believe the classic tell tale signs were all there alright of a deliberate corrupt home town job fix..

Perhaps everyone has already seen it, but if not, I recommend checking out the interview with Andre Ward at fighthype.com (I would post a link but unfortunately I can't as I haven't been a member of this forum long enough).

It's full of interesting stuff, including a very sensible appraisal of Froch-Groves, but perhaps the most striking thing is that Ward appears to be as open to a Groves fight as he is to facing Froch again: " . . . the type of performance that Groves put on, you could say he deserves a shot more than Froch".

Personally, I'd like to see Ward beat Froch, then Groves beat Ward (unlikely as that may seem).

Ward gets criticised for not fighting outside his home town and rightly so to a point but he is right in saying he wont come here for the reasons he stated, also he has made it clear he will fight Froch so whats the warrior waiting for...Groves or Ward, arguably his 2 biggest tests are willing to fight him, if he doesnt fight either surely thats a duck?

Yeah that's sound mate, being open minded about it there are arguments for both Groves and Froch about who could have won. If George made it to the end of the 9th, he may have recovered and came back out and outboxed Carl for the rest of the fight, we will never know. The score cards were not right though, Carl only won two close rounds before the 9th.
