The battle of jabs will be interesting, I think both will have big success with their world class jabs, but Groves maybe slightly more so. If I was Smith's team I would want him to use jab to set up attacks, but look to get in close to Groves as he's easily better up close. Let's face it Eubank who doesn't have good footwork or a jab got close to Groves often enough it's just because of bad footwork, fact he can only throw looping rights and lacks shot selection that he never had success ! Callum Smith doesn't have those weaknesses. Smith should get Groves into tangles lean on him and work the body and punch the damaged shoulder as it might go again. We're DeGale or Haye the same again after major shoulder surgery ? Will Groves be after so little turnaround period?

It’ll be interesting to see how he throws that jab, Moog. I’ve luckily never dislocated my shoulder, I know others would have done on here, has he had enough recovery time? The only consolation was that it was a dislocation & not a shoulder reconstruction. It still must be psychologically hard to overcome.

Exactly will be hard m8 and truth is until he's in their fighting with small gloves he won't fully know. I am no doctor just seems a quick turnaround for boxing at world class level to to me. I seen Joe G was very happy at news Groves looks like he will be fit as is Hearn and Callum. If Joe G was worried his man would lose imo he would be first person shouting from roof tops demanding fight went ahead on scheduled date.

Of course they’re confident in their man...but confidence can be misplaced...

You’re right. And the confidence Groves and his team have on his shoulder being 100% by July 7th could be catastrophically misplaced.

smith has looked poor against his best opponents and he doesn't move his head at all and is so easy to hit and getting hit so easy against former kickboxer can his chin take groves power

He’s took everyone else’s but then again he hasn’t been in with a puncher like Groves!

Smith is still somewhat of an unknown and the performances against Skoglund and the kickboxer don’t really do him justice. There’s still a lot more to come.

This final between Groves and Callum will happen. The added intrigue in the fight will be whether he has fully recovered both physically and psychologically. Callum Smith is the wrong opponent for a comeback fight from an injury thats for sure.

Maybe he is A maybe he isn't.....as pointed out smith has looked poor when he's stepped up. He has zero track record of handling even a sub par groves type opponent. If the smith I've seen at times shows up ...he could be the ideal opponent to make groves look sensational!

A fully fixed Groves beats Smith for me. I'd give Jnr a chance with Smith via points, and look what Groves did to Jnr.

Groves is a warrior. The injury and previous injuries have/will not faze him. If little Nicky can get through Callums jab George will have no problems. His ring IQ and discipline have greatly improved and I believe he can win this by stoppage or through the judges.

Callum has not looked right throughout the tournament and could possibly be suffering from Selby syndrome.
