http://talksport.com/radio/how-to-listen Very interesting.. Says Booth texted him to say he didn't want to train him anymore...
Maybe he feels Groves isn't capable of competing with Froch and he'd rather not waste his time. :tong
Theres alot of talk that Groves has been a bit miffed at the amount of attention Andy Lee has been getting from Booth. Apparently Booth sees a world title in Lee, and feels he is the main to make the adjustments
Possibly. Thing is though, Andy Lee has been around world level boxing and is similar in weight/size to Groves... sparring wise that's very good to have for Groves in the same gym. Obviously not right in the lead up to Froch as they have different styles, but in general.
Surely there more joy in taking a young kid from the AM's all the way to the top like with Haye rather than a ready made fighter
Something doesn't add up, I can't believe this close to the fight of his career and he would want a new trainer, or Booth would for that matter. Surely they would sort it all out afterwards.
This doesn't look good on Adam Booth's part. He comes across as a cold calculated individual but I never doubted his loyalty to his fighters until now. I hope this doesn't effect Groves psychologically in the build up to the fight.
I reckon it's due to Haye and Froch being very good mates, that it could get a little too personal, so Booth has walked away..
I think Booth did it to teach Him a lesson and it's back fired. Loads of rumours that Groves thinks he's genuinely world level and booth (rightly so) still thinks he has a long way to go. They Haye booth relationship would of had some strain on it no matter what. Those two are solid.
