Booth seems like a bit of a ****, but there are x2 sides to every story. I'm sure Groves wasn't exactly an angle to work with, he comes across as a bit of a **** also tbh. I'm not defending either.

So many wankers in boxing around that time - Booth, Groves, DeGale, Froch, Saunders etc

End of the day Groves agreed to the deal in the first place and he wasn't exactly an unknown fighter turning pro! He would of had many options presented to him. Crying over it years later is great in hindsight. The book lies with him!

Booth didn't leave a week before the fight it was 10 weeks before so Groves did have his full camp for that fight with Paddy Fitzpatrick.

Ah, right. Not what was quoted in the OP. I'm amazed that Fitzpatrick was able to get George in such a great place mentally and physically. Never really got close again.

The original post says Booth left before the 'announcement' of the fight, not left the week before the fight.

Loads do. Not blaming trainers, because they only get 10%, it means many could not afford to do it without getting management % too. But I think the % are lopsided as the trainer puts in the graft day in day out yet managers earn a bigger %.
