Ah right, my mistake. Yeah that card was poor, but at least there was some reasoning for the undercard lacking.

Weren't Macklin and Fury meant to be on it in big fights?

Bellew v Chilemba is good fight on paper first fight was a stinker though. Groves fight is poor.

  5. Its good for for groves to be active yes but not on a ppv event that's the whole point

Froch bute whole card is looking the equal of this one that wasn't classed as ppv quality

Manfredo is now a favoured opponent shitting he'll

But i think reading between the lines the reason the undercards poor is because froch and Kessler are getting paid huge amounts, more than they have ever earned maybe

I think it's worth knowing what these normally make compared to this fight

Disappointing. I was expecting someone at LEAST on Brian Magee's level. Groves needs better opponents than this, he can't go from banging out guys like Alcoba (who was proved to be a nothing boxer against Stephenson) to fighting someone like Stieglitz or Abraham.

Macklin was supposed to be in an eliminator. Was at the press confrence. But had never signed a contract and went to sign with Goldenboy to fight Winky Wright....which fell through.

Fury was offered big money to fight an american heavyweight to save the undercard but Hennesey turned it down.

  9. Also champions league final is no ****ing excuse for eddie

Do you reckon that the west end will have a load of local amateur dramatics on until the end of the football when the real guys come on.no

    Quite easily.

Froch/Kessler is a miles better fight than Khan/McCloskey

Bellew/Chilemba is a better fight than anything else put on that night.

Groves being on there even with this opponent is better than the rest of the card put on by Khan.

Its still a **** undercard but its better than the quite staggeringly **** undercard put on by Khan.

And how much is Hearn expecting people to pay for this PPV on top of their Sky subscription?

Bellew/Chilemba is a very good fight, exactly what fans wanted for chief support. The sad fact is, it was a **** fight the first time and a rematch doesn't promise to be more entertaining, but to suggest its a bad fight is wrong. It's an excellent fight on paper, between two world class fighters who are trying to earn a world title shot.

It's a shame that it took up so much money and it's also a shame it won't match its promise on paper, in the ring. It'll be a dull, expensive fight.

Yeah and Sky pulled the card off Box Office and said no way were they having something that **** on PPV. They offered to put in regular Sky Sports. Team Khan got offended and took it to Primetime.

Can't compare Primetime PPV's to SBO PPV's. Primetime is what you go on if you can't get on Box Office.

Meh, it's not the headline event and on paper it's not really much worse than Harrison, Lazcano, ***an or Salita all of whom have been on PPV main events. The guy went the distance with Prime Sturm and at least he has some form on KO power judging by his record. He was KOd by Stevenson but Stevenson is a beast, a hard hitter, but a shite finisher.

It's not that bad a fight, I wasn't expecting Groves on the undercard when I bought my ticket either so I'm not disappointed.

They want Groves to headline his own show in Sept v Steiglitz so we couldn't really expect much better.
