Really disappointed with Hearn and Booth after all the promises that were made. I remember the press conference to announce the Froch-Kessler fight got me really excited as they said they wouldn't get away with putting a **** undercard on PPV. Well who the hell is this guy Groves is fighting in the chief support! We were promised Groves against a decent name. Defended Eddie so many times but this is a joke. If I wasn't going to the fight I'd be streaming it just for the Froch fight and not paying nearly 20 quid for it. Gutted with that I really am. What a mug for expecting a half decent undercard after splashing out over a £100 for an average seat whilst PPV is 18 quid

I don't know why people are surprised. Groves isn't fighting good opponents at this stage of his career, Booth just wants him out as regularly as possible to make up for the lost time. After he beat DeGale, he fought 18 rounds in a space of 17 months. That's ridiculously little and Booth just wants to keep Groves active. Yeah, it's a **** opponent, but it's Groves third fight in 3 months, which is the point.

I'd be shocked, and far more critical, if the next fighter Groves faces is another bum. This, whilst not defensible, is easy to understand though. Groves has been inactive for a long time and just wants a few easy fights before stepping up in quality.

Booth is the one picking the opponents and if this is what he thinks is best for Groves following that long inactivity, then so be it. It's not good for us fans but I can see where he's coming from.

why would you target the WBC when you are mandatory for the WBO?

More likley there fighting a nobody to get an easy win not to risk that position.

Thats such BS and Booth should no better. You can stay busy sparring guys like this. Booth hardly implemented that strategy with David Haye.

We said that after the last two bums!

Booth & Hearn pick the opponents together. If theres only a budget of 20k for an opponent Booth can't get much!

this is the point that i was trying to make, but not as eloquently. to complete at elite level in any sport you need to do it right. groves needs rounds against different styles and definite but gradual increase in opponents up to world level to give himself the best possible chance of competing successfully at that level.

surely that should be the priority now. anderson would have been good though just for the build up.

This guy got sparked in 2 rounds by the only decent fighter he has every faced. Groves won't be getting rounds.

He's got a padded record and only lost to two great fighters in Stevenson and Sturm, obviously there's limited money left with Froch&Kessler, Bellew&Chilemba but this is a poor opponent and George could finish this real early

From Eddie's point of view - this fight will take place when most of the people buying the PPV will still be watching football.

Still a crap fight. In return for placing fights on PPV, Sky should make some demands for the undercard fights.

Why lie about it then. They held of the announcement for a long time promising a good quality undercard and a good opponent for Groves in the chief support. If they had no intention of doing that don't say you do raising fans hopes only to let them down. Every other promoter would get plenty of Stick for this. Eddie said he wouldn't get away with a crap undercard but gives us one anyway. He deserves stick for that

If Allegedly made this fight he'd get ****ing slaughtered. George says he joined Matchroom to get bigger career fights and instead fights 3 absolute no marks.

    Sorry but this is bull****.

It's not a case of selling tikets that's extreme and ignoring the point. I bought tickets for Froch-Kessler mainly but sold then expecting a solid undercard. If I was at home I would stream the Froch fight not pay PPV or whole card which I would happily of done if I missed out on tickets with a good undercard

fair point with this fight, but he definitely is a long way off even fringe world level and inactivity is the main reason for it. hes definitely got some talent and is a 5/6 fights behind where he should be.
