Putting the usual hate and predjudices aside and his level of opposition how hard is Groves now punching?. He seems to be setting his feet better and getting more leverage into his shots, ok he didn't stop Glen Johnson (but not many do) but some of his finishing punches have been *******s, I/e Paul Smith. Not totally convinced he is a one punch knock out merchant but he is certainly up there in the SMW punchers table. Opinions please!
Totally agree, there aren't really any monster punchers in the SM division like Mathysse or GGG in their respective divisions, would be nice if Groves could be the man at SM.
Ha the thread got deleted. Groves is learning to punch cleaner under Booth, but has to be careful he doesnt just wait for the biggie like Haye tends to
Indeed, if he had been fighting either Froch or Kessler on Saturday I couldn't have seen him lasting the distance with the defence he has been using. It may be the case that he thinks he can blast guys out of there and take a couple of risks but as the DeGale fight showed he does have the ability to fight in a more controlled logical way. for the record I'm a big fan of his and he comes across as a nice chap although some of his ties are naughty!
