How highly do you rate the single shot power of George Groves? Feel free too use comparisons with other fighters.

He has got good power but not big time power like GGG

Golovkin after sparring him said he had no power

Groves couldn't put murray down once

But he did put an iron chinned Froch down, very heavily aswell, I'm so 50/50 on whether he's a big puncher or not

He just caught froch with a perfect shot even a decent puncher can put you down if they catch you right

He hits hard but doesn't have real big power

I mean, you can see he throws with serious power in some shots. "Single shot" power is usually misinterpreted the wrong way, like people just have this innate ability to throw nukes when everyone else is tossing a stick of dynamite. Usually the difference between "single shot KO power" and heavy hands is the delivery, it's either faster, sneakier, more accurately placed.

His delivery isn't that fast but he throws some shots at weird angles and can catch guys clean with them. As far as force behind his biggest and best? As good as anyone at 168, if not top 1-3.

If Paulie really sat on his shots and didn't have glass hands he'd have CRACKING power.

Thudding power when he commits! Fires gone & Froch has semi ruined him though.

If he lands a pitch perfect shot, he can KO someone out cold, but normally he seems to have medium power, that is, he doesn't inspire caution the same way someone like Kovalev does from any landed shot.

Cool story we can all play that game,

GGG went life and death with a badly faded Ouma, some utter can Augustin Silva didn't let him get out of 1st round lol this bloke only had 4 more stoppages in 37 fights!

Groves has KO power @ super middleweight, GGG might not have the same power when he fights blokes his own size.

*Murray said Groves is the hardest puncher he has ever faced

This is a strange rating system, can't compare a super middleweight to George Foreman, designed to make Groves look bad tbh, 1 punch power Groves would be closer to Malignaggi than Foreman, but still a huge puncher for his weight!

Not only that but most sparring sessions use gloves that are 16oz-20oz. Pro's wear 8 for the lower weights and 10oz.

Even in amateur boxing from middle up to super heavy the gloves are 12oz.

Wasn't meant as in literally the same, was more too do with very powerful or not so powerful scale. Not literally comparing him to Foreman I thought that would of been obvious I guess not

Gutknecht still needs care and won't ever be the same again. Whatever you say about Groves punching power, he can hurt people. If not by one punch power then through accumulation.
