Goerge Groves is 6'0" feet and will be almost 175 pounds on fight night. Conor is not the striker he thought he was at featherweight . He won't get close enough to choke George out.
Obviously Groves loses if the fight goes to ground, but he could easily KO McGregor before that happens, based on what Diaz sloppy punches did to him, a solid jad would rock him. McGregor is also the vastly inferior athlete and while Groves may only be boxer, the speed, agility, accuracy and power he posses is on a different planet to anything McGregor has seen in MMA.
Someone who only knows how to box is always vulnerable to a grappler, but when you have hugely superior speed and agility, combined with their poor defence, then it's not especially difficult to land punches on them. But we never get to see this as you'll never see a prime, elite boxer, who are generally superior athletes, go over to MMA. The only ones who do are old, out of shape, shot fighters like Mercer, Toney and Botha, and even then they have had some success.
I really hope this happens, it'd be hilarious if at best a contender level boxer knocks out their supposed p4p star in their own sport.
