George Groves vs. Christopher Eubank Jr. & Tommy Langford vs. Jack Arnfield RBR.

GGG would walk CEJ down and KO him. Still would have been a big cash fight for Eubank Jr in England, even if he never fought after that.

 

A few people have said that and I'm quite surprised. Mainly because Eubank Jr's engine and Groves perceived stamina issues meant that before the fight people thought it could be a fight of two halves with Groves dominating early on with Jr coming back in he later rounds a la Froch vs Taylor. I personally have always thought Groves stamina issues are a bit over rated plus the natural size and power difference would mean help Groves in that regard.

 

Eubank was tiring through getting hit and wildly swinging tho. Groves was tiring without throwing or getting hit.

 

well, i'm half drunk and there's no fights on. think i'll just walk into the middle of the street, talk **** and swing for the fences.

 

Naz stole the show. What a legend , couldn't give a flying F. Everything he said was 100% true though tbf and ne thind is also for sure .. he'd never get a job on Sky . lolol

 

Or maybe he thought...."hmmm, I'm 6 rounds up, no need to keep on the gas as much. Take it a bit easier and save your energy for the final few rounds".

Also, if you watch Froch vs Groves II, he actually just started to up the tempo from the 6th/7th rd onwards when he got caught with that peach in the 8th. No stamina problems there - just caught with a haymaker.

 

Eubanks could of easily been KO'ed, didn't even realise he didn't have a trainer. He just looked devoid of a game plan and basically allowed himself to fight GG fight, no wonder he didn't fight GGG, would of been savagely destroyed.

 

Maybe i'm just being harsh on Groves and should judge him on the current guys in the division. For me, Groves is only at Elite level now because that Elite level has dropped. It's a depressing division currently.

Well I said from the start that Grove's jab and his experience would be the difference. And it was.

So I'm sitting here with a smug grin on my face. Much like that smug grin Snr had on his until this evening.

 

Froch, Kessler, Ward....Even Jack....Groves got nowhere near the top of the division when those guys were active. So for me to claim he's only at the top of the division because the standard has dropped, is pretty damn accurate.

 

Shocked at how bad Eubank was. Embarrassment for the sport. He didn't looke no better than 8-0 Lawence Okoely
