Yup, a hell of a lot of positives from the two froch fights, learn from that and he will be fine

 

That is silly I don't disagree but there is no comparison between Groves trying to get up and Pac being knocked out cold face down.

Sounds good on paper but I doubt he will beat Dirrel for the belt in the US as theres no way Haymon will allow the fight to take place over here. money is irrelevant to Haymon he wants control so even if Sutherland offer big money to Haymon pre purse bids he will reject it and either cough up over the odds in a purse bid again like he did with Degale and the other Dirrell or tie the fight up in a policital knot.

IMO the Degale fight will lose all its appeal if George loses especially if its by KO or wide points - and if James wins the IBF I can't see Groves being prepared to take the short end or be 'hearns hore' etc

 

Groves is finished as a fighter. He got three brutal beatings that he'll never be able to forget by Froch.

His punch resistance is all used up, he is overly tentative and no longer has the snapping power to deter his opponents.

He struggled against a mummy's boy fgs.

Groves clearly thinks he can beat dirrell, and he probably knows barring a ridiculous offer its in the US, but as brook showed it can be done, ditto for degale even though both are slight underdogs

 

Groves will be perfectly fine, world champion in waiting as far as I'm concerned,

1st Froch fight he looked the dogs *******s before a poor stoppage.

2nd Froch fight was even up until he got hit with a bingo punch.

He could have went into hiding for a bit after that 2nd fight given the magnitude of it and the way he got drilled by that rocket of a right hand, but he wanted to get back into the ring straight away - fair play to him.

He didn't drop a round to Rebrasse, a man big for the weight and surprised me as to how tough he was. He threw near on 1000 punches in that fight and did the 12 rounds - exactly what he needed after Froch.

He then faced Douglin, who came over here in very good shape, took a few rounds to get going but once he did he took him out.

Groves needed a rest and let's not forget, being able to get yourself "up" for a fights against Rebrasse & Douglin after the size of the Froch rematch would be very difficult.

People blow the froch fights out of proportion...

He's a young kid - who now has more "big fight experience" than any other man his age on the planet.
He boxed well up until the finish in BOTH fights, a lot better than a few others have fought against Carl.

Yes he got done in both, he got straight back on the horse & has fought twice since , barely dropping a round.

Fact is he openly admitted in taking the Rebrasse fight he needed to go back to the drawing board... He did & he will come back , to a massively strong division & if he gets the degale fight Then he's been involved in 3 of the last 3 biggest fights in Uk for last decade and a half at least!
