If Anderson would of been in shape in the first fight he would of taken Goves out, has a good chance of doing just that this time, he's in great shape already Go Kenny.......:fire:fire

I wouldn't favor Groves over Magee ATM.....he's been moving along nicely, and shows some skills, but I think he's there to be hit, and if Bute, Kessler, Ward, or Froch would give him a fight right now, they'd be cherrypicking a KO win......Yeah, even Ward would KO Groves. It'd probly be a towel type TKO stoppage, but I don't see Georgey Boy making the final bell against any of the top 5.

A better test for him would be Oosthuizen, either of the D2, Magee, Bika, and maybe even Allan Green.

I like Groves and he has a ton of upside, but he's really got a lot of room for improvement ATM, and I see Froch, Kessler, and maybe even Bute being retired 4-5 yrs before Groves hits his prime. Hope he's matched well during those years, because I'd hate to see him fed to the wolves only to lose his steam early in his career.

And BTW.......Paul Smith is NOT world class.....he's not even proven near the top of the ladder on the domestic scene. He had some decent wins through his career, but nothing to claim title contender status. :rofl

I rate Kenny he's a wrecking ball.. He's very underated on here thoe, I think his big flaw is his stamina because i've seen him struggle a few times..

Yes you are correct, but iam sure they will be working on that, his punch power and toughness are not in question, i believe Kenny will win this fight, and it wont be going the distance........:nono

When? Hopefully soon. He doesn't have a lot of fights, but he seems like he is aiming towards the top, which is good. Hopefully within 2 years.

If only he came about two or three years earlier; where he would have been developed enough to be amongst those guys you've mentioned. He easily would have been included in the Super Six, and would have been Ward's rival. Hard to say who would have won between them.

But right now, he'd give Froch a run for his money. He's easily more talented and skilled than him, but is just probably lacking that maturity and experience. But with that said, I wouldn't be surprised if he beats him convincingly. Like I said, the kid has immense talent. And I see him fighting and dispatching of Bute a year or two down the line, before eventually moving up settling it with Ward straight after. That'll be a huge fight. Not sure if Ward would wanna' risk it, though.

Im sure if the Froch fight came along tomorrow , he'd take it !!!

Im not sure who or what style of opponent George has to beat to begin the process of edging toward fighting a world champion

Both he and De Gale looked ultra impressive in there fight , both showed a world class level then IMHO , so for me he's ready now

The timing is bad for a potential Froch fight as Carl will be wrapping up in the next 12 months one would expect , but future forward he has a lot of exciting fights out there , its time to start getting him in there with relevant names :deal

Groves is more likely to get success, because he has a good team around him. Degale is the better boxer, but because his team is sh!t, he will not fulfill his full potential.

I've followed Groves since he turned pro and he is a top talent.

He seems to be a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none.. he does pretty much everything well and his best attribute? The fact that he knows his flaws, has kept his feet on the ground and is constantly looking to improve.

    Commonwealth Champ in 9 fights.
    British Champ in 13

That just shows he has class - all at a young age as well (he's still only 23).

And in 14 pro fights he has wins over an Olympic gold medalist in Degale (close fight, but the correct decision was made in Groves favour IMO), a win over Commonwealth medalist Kenny Anderson who is one tough ******* and he absolutely steam rollered Paul Smith.. say what you want about Smith, but nobody has done to him what Groves did.

If he continues to carry on the way he is, keeping his feet on the ground and working hard.. I do think he will go far. Some people in this post are extremely underrating him and others extremely overrating him.

    1). He's a top talent
2). To say he would beat the likes of Froch, Ward, Bute etc at this stage is daft.

Groves should win the Lonsdale belt out right, move up and stay around European level for a while and when he hits 26/27.. then he should be looking at world level.

Spot on:good although i've watched him spar with Froch before the Degale fight and yes i know its only sparing and Froch did NOT knock George down like Degale was suggesting @ the press conference but that they pulled it half way through as Groves was making him look stupid and Froch was saying he was out of shape and laughing about it.
