  1. The only way to stop Abraham is with a shovel.

I'd like to see everyone leave rabbit hole, another fighter I enjoyed watching but since the move to rabbit hole and BN havent watched him, same with Burns, Cleverly...

He's got a fine beard. That's undeniable. But he doesn't like it downstairs - this is even evident from his last fight against Bouadla. I could see Kessler utilising the same strategy he employed against Froch and possibly wearing him down. But obviously I wouldn't put a large quantity of money on it.

  4. He is vulnerable to the body but I've never seen him in any sort of real trouble. Although Dirrell did put him down briefly and that was a head shot if I remember correctly? More like a flash knock down. You'd get some good odds on a stoppage win for Groves.

That's a fair assessment. Although I do feel that fighting in Germany means that some of his opponent's haven't been allowed to work the body as vigorously as they'd like.

In the real world I don't really see Groves stopping Abraham. I don't see him throwing a sufficient volume of body punches to halt him, opting for a suitably tentative approach. I still might put a tenner on it.

    What do you mean, "who"?

Do you not follow SMW except within the confines of the domestic scene in Great Britain and the big names of the Super Six?

He's WBA #8 and one of the highest ranked of the Euro class heap, so there is your "why".

    Here...familiarize yourself:

  7. It might be worth a cheeky tenner. You never know.

Love it when people assume somebody is shot when they have never witnessed him boxing.

The european title is a good step forwad and its irrelivent that DeGale has previously won it. It's also irrelivent which one of Groves and DeGale fights for a world title first and when. None of them appear ready to fight for a world title at this moment in time, and they won't be for another year.

If Groves defenda the European against guys like Magee, Sartison, Balaszay etc then I will be happy. He is also Mandatroy for the WBO again.

If there were to be a KO in that fight I would lean towards it going to AA.

Groves or Degale can both beat him on points but I don't see either of them stopping him, as has been mentioned, certainly not in Germany. If it was over here they may have got a "British stoppage" but I can't see AA travelling here to fight somehow!

Groves has looked a bit shaky in the past when taking punishment and AA has a serious dig on him, Degale has never really been in trouble but he is too easy to hit and they'd both have to box and move and stick to a rigid game plan to stay out of range from his bombs. Degale on the ropes with a beast like Abraham unloading on him is not a good scenario for James. With Groves it's just that he likes to exchange and always wants to respond when he gets clipped and do the macho trading thing, that's alright if you're Froch but I am not sure Groves chin will stand up to flush shots from Abraham.

Froch showed them how to beat him, it is just whether or not they can put that in practise without doing something stupid and getting caught too often. Personally I think they're 3 or 4 fights away from a world title shot still, they both need to iron out their mistakes and become more complete fighters at this moment in time.
