I was at the fight in Melbourne this afternoon and it was unimpressive. Haney got the win but in the most boring style. George didn’t go to war like he did with Teo and due to Haney’s defensive style, if he did it would have most likely also resulted in a loss.

I don’t think there should be a rematch and if there is it will most likely go to Haney again.

You just had to take in account their styles. Kambosos is good when his opponents engage, like Teo did and come forward. His style is not so good when fighting someone that will sit comfortably behind the jab all fight and grab after every exchange or when Kambosos got close to offset the rhythm.

Kambosos will never beat Haney unless he changes his entire style.

This was the same George who fought Selby and Bey. He's a good boxer but no one at 135 can outbox Haney. He needed to pressure right out of the gate and see if he could wear Haney down or hurt him. But he's not really that kind of fighter. And he doesn't have the 1 punch power to be patient and wait for a counter.

Haney was extra sharp tonight after the 2nd round. Once he got his timing down, he was tough to hit. He was landing at will almost. It can be boring but he always tied up whenever he missed so he never got countered. He put on a clinic with the jab tonight.

I bet ESPN or whoever strongly pushes Kambosos to take another fight in Australia.

 

well done and congrats to Devin Haney, as expected it was a tough tough stylistic matchup for Kambosos but i thought he'd bring more heat and aggression and especially volume to make it a very close fight and give those judges a chance to score it for the local guy but Haney was just too slick and elusive, boxed beautifully and held when it was necessary. Kambosos also looked like he was trying to play the counter puncher again like in the Teo fight and thought it'd work but it didn't as Haney is a much much better boxer than Lopez. Stupid game plan by Kambosos.Had it 9-3 for DH. No shame in losing to Haney though. He's one of the best boxers skill-wise P4P and will beat many other guys in the future at 135 and probably 140, maybe even 147.

I don't mind a rematch though. But Haney deserves a rematch in the US imo. I don't care about contracts. If you beat the guy in his backyard, you deserve the rematch in your backyard.

 

Unfortunately after that he witnessed Tank separate LSC and the effect on Crybaby Garcia was to cause him mental health issues. He is no longer a proper fight but a social media fighter. Next fight he will go in with Logan Sweet Hands Paul.

 

LSC is a Featherweight dosser...of course he did KO him. What did you expect? Especially with LSCs reckless style. As a Tank fan you shouldn't bring up the LSC W...

No, i wasn't. You're a clown dude. If you read my analysis you know what i wrote. I said Haney is a tough matchup for Kambosos and on paper Haney should take it but there were a few BUTs i couldn't get over and i was wrong with those BUTs but my initial read of the fight was on point like usually. I'm one of the best in here in picking fights and reading matchups. I picked and predicted upsets in here with odds around +1500 and gave out those picks FOR FREE so everyone could have made some money. You can't pick all the fights right. That's just part of the game. I win bets, and i lose bets. But in the end my ROI is like 15-20% so i make money with that ****. I don't have to play possum when i pick or bet the wrong winner of a fight. It's just natural part of the game.

So and now please go back and clean up your trailer park or they'll will remove you from the property you dirty little ****.

I hopped a bus with my phone battery dying around the halfway point but it was by then already obvious the Greek was up shite's creek barring a miracle KO ...a very low probability, given Haney's defensive skill and reach advantage coupled with the fact that GKJ was struggling to put much offensive together after just the first two rounds.

I kind of figured it would play out the rest of the way as more of the same, and that I wasn't missing anything very thrilling. Shame, because he almost did clean Devin's clock with that one big overhand right early on, showing that if George had brought superior tactics a path may have been there for him to get to a stoppage, but once it had been scouted and survived, that card was burnt and couldn't be replayed.

In round 1 the ref called "time" but ESPN's round clock never stopped. Then the 10 second clacker sounded with 0:10 on the clock as if the ref didn't just call time. After 10 seconds elapsed the ESPN clock expired and they cut to commercial, but the round was not over yet. It apparently went on for another 5-10 seconds which we never saw.
