Early Sunday morning. Looking forward to it. Tough ask for Maxi but I’d absolutely love him to pull it off. He should be a role model for all young fighters - brought in at short notice as an opponent for Jono Carroll on an MTK show at a TV studio in Wakefield during lockdown, pulled off a big upset, jacked in his job as a painter & decorator to give boxing one last real go and 7 straight wins later he’s headlining in America against a former unified world champion. A mate of mine is friends with him and he seems a real top lad. Done it the hard way and a credit to British boxing.
Sounds like a Steffy Bull line that ha. Yes Maxi is great at Boxing and If anyone deserves it or is the man to pull off the upset its Maxi. Only thing that's sticking in my mind is them good wins he's had alately are all against smaller or same size opponents. Jono was a sfw, kid and Walsh were fw, Kotochigov was a small lw and the Mexican apart from having a good hook wasn't that good. G.K is a solid LW who will be bigger with a bit of a dig on him. Saying that Selby who had just come up from fw gave GK a real close fight. I hope Maxi pulls it off. Looking fwd to this one.
AJ was never that good anyway, robotic his whole career & still, with no signs of change.....it was only a matter of time before someone with fast hands would get to him and knock him out.....granted wasn't expected to come in the form of some short chubby guy who was brought in as a replacement.....but he was still a capable fighter.
Usually the adjective must denote a similarity to the the noun but not be the same so Bellewesque seems fitting however when the noun ends with the letter ‘w’ the correct adjective suffix changes as the ‘w’ becomes a ‘v’ and ‘-esque’ then subsequently becomes ‘-ian’, hence, Bellevian. I completely agree with your comment notwithstanding.
DECEPTION As much as I want Maxi to win I am a big fan of Kambosos and his dad although why he’s called George Kambosos JUNIOR when his dads name is Jim is anyone’s guess.
