At last someone has written a bit of sense on the whole disturbing tragedy of Valero's family and how it reflects on the boxing establishment. I am sick reading all this crap about Valero's loss to boxing. The only loss he is to boxing are to the whoremasters in the game who were making money off his back. Shower of *******s the whole lot of them. http://www.irishtimes.com/newspaper/sport/2010/0422/1224268875539.html
Too true. When you are a big star, usually those around don't have your best interests at heart, it is why so many stars go off the rails. Those who are easily led, impulsive, prone to personal issues, when people like that get fame and money, it almost always ends badly. :verysad And you are right Gasman, this business is completely cut throat, boxers are screwed over every day in this game.
I am still surprised this guy was allowed to fight so many times. I mean, the guy was good. But think about it, he wasn't a guy using PEDs. This guy was a drug addict. Couple of days before killing his wife he missed a flight that was supposed to take him to a detox clinic. He was using all kind of hard drugs (cocaine, heroin, etc) Plus alcohol. How the hel was he passing his physicals and drug tests. And don't blame any south american country. This guy fought in USA.
Great article. its crazy, valero probably tried murdering her last month but failed. he finished the job last week. madness! its also true that the people around him were like leeches, sqeazing every ounce of blood ($$$$) out of him, although edwin obviously wanted to fight on. its also sad that everyone is mourning valero's death but hardly anyone mentions the wife he ruthlessly murdered!
Monzon, Tyson, SRR, Jake Lamotta, Ike Ibeabuchi, Butler, Kirkland, and now Valero among countless others lesser known. . .boxing and other combat sports are not like other sports. It attracts more than its share of criminals, lunatics, women beaters, rapists, murderers and all manner of people with very serious issues. This isn't golf guys. This great sport will by nature attract this sort of human being often. It's not fair to judge the sport as a whole based on these rotten apples.
not to **** on anyone's grave but i disagree. infamous news like this will only make the allure of boxing that much more mysterious and brutal. it is perfect for the sport in my eyes.
