This ain't no rosey tinged assessment but a brass tacks review of their skills and what those skills actually manifested in point of a head to head match up over 12 rounds.

Neither had a resume of any note at 175lbs .I'll say Czyz beats anyone Carpentier did. Toss up fight.

Could Czyz beat a 34-year-old in fine shape, Joe Jeannette? Many say a 20-year-old Carpentier did.

I'd lean toward Carpentier here, as he was a fine boxer mover, who had trouble dealing with much bigger opponents who can hit.

Czyz wasn't a big puncher and stood about 5'10" tall. So I think Carpentier's fast hands and better mobility here would edge Czyz, who I could not stand as a boxer, commentator or drunken fool with four documented drunken-driving offenses.

Czyz went out like a b^t@h vs. Holyfield.

Czyz says Holyfield cheated. Initially, he companioned about his back. Then his chief second says " if I say it's your eyes, it's your eyes "

    Hilarious! Check the link, 5:15

Holyfield's gloves were checked. Nothing came up. Total BS from Czyz, and thank you, Corrie Sanders, for waxing this disgrace!

    No bias there then!:eusa_dance:

Sanders was a 238lbs big hitting heavyweight Czyz a 36 years old former middleweight.Wonder how The Orchid Man would do at 36 with him? At the age of 30 he was getting hammered by a 173lbs Tunney.

Oh I admit there is some bias, but what I said is also the truth.

Czyz is over rated and a disgrace in and out to the ring. A dirty fighter to who liked to use his head.

Carpentier resorted to butting Siki did you know that?
"Siki then took over, scoring many body blows, while Carpentier fell into butting and fouling. The French crowd booed their own. With Carpentier boring in head first, Siki scored the KO in round six, with a right to the ribs. The referee tried to throw the bout by claiming Siki had fouled by tripping. Three judges upheld the KO.(Based on the fight film.)"

What Czyz did out of the ring has no bearing on his ring abilities. That's always your problem ,you cannot separate the man from the boxer.

Retaliation for excessive fouling does not make one a dirty fighter, especially if the Ref is not docking points. I do not fault Carpentier here.

As a boxer, Czyz was overrated in the ring and I'd be happy to debate anyone who thinks he was very skilled.

He was a survivor type with some ability, without much power, and a tad dirty. His best win is likely Donny Lalonde! Of course, Czyz felt the need to be dirty and landed a low blow in round 10 of that fight, in the lead.

It would be interesting if you are fond of Czyz. Might you have an affinity for the low lives out of the ring who foul and cheat in it?

What was the ,"excessive fouling," that Siki indulged in? I have Carpentier's own account of the fight all he mentions is being tripped so please elaborate. Docking points for fouling was not even in the rules in1922! By Carpentier's own words both of them had agreed to a fixed fight so I don't see where the Frenchman has the moral high ground here. . I'm not fond of Czyz he means zilch to me one way or the other. I don't care for low lifes, [it is low lifes ,not low lives]in general and I don't condone those who often use illegal tactics as in Hopkins,Wlad,Tyson,Holyfield etc.

Bottom line Carpentier was beaten up and stopped by one of the poorest light heavyweight champions ever!

Czyz is a NJ native like me. Watched his rise fighting tomato cans who did not fight back. First live opponent embarrassed him. Czyz was a front runner who fell apart against his best opposition. He is not beating Carpentier. The best Carp hurts Czyz early and it's a tentative Bobby from there on out. Carp by stoppage round 8.
