Round 1 Mekereshvilli is literally windmilling at Radeff from outside. This guy has engaged in 43 professional boxing matches? Just...windmilling. He falls down, his own momentum and weight crashing him into the canvas as he misses. Kind of hilarious. Lots of missed windmills by Mekereshvilli, falling in and tying up when he can. Radeff just popping jabs between his eyes and circling to his left. Mekereshvilli knocked off balance from a range-finding jab, but claps his fists together as if to pump himself up. WILD can-opener hook by Mekereshvilli, badly missed, poorly aimed with no attempt to gauge distance. 10-9 Radeff, easy.
Radeff has some form domestically anyways, winning the French CW title before running head first into an Armenian-French fighting machine.
20-18 Radeff Avoided most of Mekereshvilli's bull-rushing nonsense and punished him with jabs and straight rights - at one point rocking Mekereshvilli badly with a right descending across the back of his head like an ax. Showboating from Mekereshvilli every time he is hurt.
Mekereshvilli dropped Fanlong Meng twice and lost to him via (probably sketchy) MD in China in 2016. Meng, if the name sounds familiar, was the guy the IBF tried shoehorning into a match with Artur Beterbiev when he was the highest ranked available guy, and he was like "y'all can miss this n**ga with that noise!" (but...you know...in Mandarin...)
I'd say only a matter of time before he takes Mekereshvilli out, but Radeff sat heavily on his stool and is puffing..
He also has a fight scheduled against Frank Buglioni on the Matchroom Monaco card. Kind of hard to believe that he got dropped twice by Mekereshvilli lol
40-36 Radeff I'm not sure this deserved higher billing than Kani vs. Bertogal, tbh. Quality of boxing is MUCH lower...and it hasn't exactly been overflowing with cheap popcorn-munching entertainment value to make up for it, either. Fun moments here and there, but not consistent.
Yeah I remember thinking when he was mooted as Beterbiev's opponent "damn, that is maybe the most padded active record I've seen in China short of Junlong Zhang" but hell...this would be the equivalent of Zhang getting dropped twice by ...hell, idk, Zuri Lawrence?
Radeff doing just enough, dancing around, dizzying Mekereshvilli with movement and jabbing into his brow. Some body work by Radeff, but not committing to it enough. WILD swings by Mekereshvilli, all missing. 50-45 Radeff
10-9 Radeff 50-45 Radeff. Probably the best round from the Georgian thus far but not enough to take it.
