If this was the same GSP that finished fights a few years ago, I'd agree 110%

So is GSP saying that he gets paid $4 to $5 million for each of his fights?

Couture made 1,186,000 for selling 586k ppv against tim silvia in 2007
Couture made 1,072,000 for selling 534k ppv against Gonzaga in 2007
ESPN estimated that Brock made 5.3 million for his 2 ppv in 2010. Each of his 2010 PPV sold over 1 million.
Overeem gets 2 dollars per ppv once the ppv reaches a 500,000 ppv threshold.
Lorenzo has stated in interviews that some fighters make 10 million dollars a year.

So, does GSP get 4-5 million for selling between 700k-900k ppv? If you include his sponsors, maybe.

Sounds like a guy trying to talk his price up before he visits the management and puts his hand out for a bigger slice of the action. Good on him. But good luck with the management

  6. Yeah thats usually how they typically do things.....it doesnt mean that they get anywhere near that amount.

True. But if you don't ask you don't get, and I'm sure Dana is expecting a request for a meeting any time now

    Thoughts on what ?

There is a economic benefit in the city where the event is ? No **** sherlock...totally new to me !:nut

On GSP making 4 to 5 million per fight ? Nop, not surprised, he already stated in a local interview here that he was making **** load of money and he is one of the biggest draw in PPV, we all knew he had a PPV cut, so 4 to 5 million was approx. what I thought he was making per fight !

And like kokoko said, he didn't specified if it's only UFC money of with sponsor !

Georges is their highest paid fighter, only a handful are on a PPV deal. Actively Georges, Anderson and Lesnar I think?
So these guys make bank(relatively) but lets not get it twisted.. Boxing promotions split their takings 50/50 with the fighters. Zuffa pays less than 10% to its fighters(often much less).
Makes you wonder where all that cash goes......
