Alright fellas? Im new to these forums and to be honest ive been a bit put off posting on these things by some of the madness that occurs in the US Forum! Anyway, was just wondering if many of you had an opinion on Georgie Smith, think he was a light welter, welter weight? Would be interested in hearing them, I remember in the late 90s he scored some very big knockout wins. Cheers
Dont really know that much about him to be honest mate apart from the Roche fight. Dont be put off posting on here though pal always good to have new posters and this forum is nowhere near as bad as the 'Gen'
was that the lad with the blonde hair who got into some kind of drug trouble? Welcome to the forum by the way, don't be put off. You get used to a certain level of idiot here and there on the interweb, don't let it affect you posting!
I must admit, I had never heard of him before, was he a good domestic fighter in the 90's? Anyway, start posting more, the Brit forum is 20x better than the general, plus there are 3 of us from the North-East so you will feel right at home :yep
Yeah thats the lad, I didnt ktnow he got into trouble with drugs, I was wondering what had happened to him like, thanks for that! Thanks for the welcome as well fellas :hi:
good puncher and a decent amatuer but didnt have the stamina or technical ability to get him to the top. the tito trinidad school of thought. stay long enough to land a left hook. arrogant **** aswell, used to have a strong following at flag waving working mans clubs around basildon http://archive.gazette-news.co.uk/2001/12/27/168826.html
Yeah i remember him. He weren't nothing special and he was a thug and a scumbag. Southern area title level fighter....had a dig so could go a bit beyond that to domestic level but as his record suggests he got beat when he stepped up to decent level.
think he fought out of Basildon. Sold **** loads of tickets for Barry Hearn shows and was always on the undercard of Delaney brother shows. Good crowd pleaser type. Like some already said, he was decent at Area title level. Then drugs took over i think.
